Was just boredomly surfing the internet on advise to get ripped. I have an island vacation/party I’m prepping for and just want to look my absolute best for it. In the past I’d cut calories down to 1,300-1,600 calories/day for a few weeks to achieve my goal but I’ve noticed that now it’s just not cutting it. My gut is constantly rumbling and those gahdamn Arbys gyro commercials are f~~~ing killing me! lol I do calm down though after I gander in the mirror and tell myself “You’re looking good! And YOU have THE PENIS!”
Anyways, I found this and decided I’m going to give it a shot starting next sunday instead of counting calories.
Trust me when I say that this is one of the fastest, healthiest ways to boost fat burning to the max. It’s not easy, but it works incredibly well.
Vegetables to choose from: artichoke, asparagus, beets, bok choy, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, green beans, kale, mushrooms, okra, onions, peppers, spinach, squash, tomato. These can be eaten raw, steamed, or in a big salad drizzled with a little olive oil and/or balsamic vinegar.
DAY 1: At 8am, noon, 4pm, and 8pm eat as much of any vegetable as you want, in any combination. You don’t have to eat at those exact times, but spread out the four meals as evenly as possible. Drink 100 ounces of water.
DAYS 2-4: Eat vegetables at the same four times each day but add in 20 grams of protein from fish, chicken, lean beef, turkey, eggs or seafood at 8am and 4pm meals. This equates to 3-4 ounces of fish, chicken, lean beef, turkey, or seafood or 3-4 whole eggs at those two meals. Drink 100 ounces of water.
DAYS 5-7: At 8am, noon, 4pm, and 8pm eat vegetables in any combination and quantity and have 20 grams of protein (3-4 ounces) from fish, chicken, lean beef, turkey, seafood or 3-4 eggs at each meal. Drink 100 ounces of water.
I’ve never come across anything on the internet that I approve of but if you read the guys entire article it sounds like an excellent way to cut body fat. Only I will be adding a little more protein(20-30g) and most likely a 5th salad cause I’m an early bird and like to wake up around 4:30am.
Any thoughts?

There is quite a lot of carb in vegetables.
Fruit is worse because of the sugar. In my own experience – following what endocrinologist Dr Robert Lustig says, cut carbs as much as possible.
Eat plenty of white meat of even better fish. That gives you slow burning energy.
Carbs iknfluence the production of insulin which gives you hunger pangs abruptly despite the body still having energy to burn. The hormones trick you into thinking you need food when you don’t.
Avoid carbs as much as possible and insulin production is reduced. Hunger comes on very slowly – over the course of hours.
When you wake eat the largest meal of the day. Plenty of meat and some vegetables.
If done correctly you will last until the evening. In the evening eat smaller sized meal than the one you ate in the morning. If you struggle between meals eat Beef Biltong. High in protein low in carbs.
Avoid Jerk because it’s quite high in carbs.
Trust me Micah – it works.
Look up Robert Lustig. I think he’s in San Francisco.

Find what works for you and go for it.
No two body metabolisms are alike and what may work for you may not work for another and can actually be detrimental.I’m not interested in getting ripped and cut, I like my muscles to have mass and be more rounded than ripped as I have large bones, a large ribcage and am more thickset than tall.
I also don’t have to target a certain food group but I have noticed good results if I keep it varied and stick to the same mealtimes all week.“A colorful meal to ensure all vitamins and proteins.” ~Unknown.

#GenderSegragationNow!Every BODY is different.
Some Men are naturally ripped, or can get ripped relatively easy. Either it’s in your DNA, or it’s NOT.
Some Men can do this on higher fat/protein low carb diets, others will need low fat and high carb diets. Personally, I THINK what is best for most is a low carb approach, but this doesn’t mean following any certain approach will make your body do what it’s genetically incapable of doing.
5% – 10% body fat ranges are NOT possible for every Man without resorting to extremes BEYOND diet and exercise, and then it’s not maintainable in the long run either.
You can give it a try. Maybe, it will work great for you. Eating a lot of vegetables is obviously not harmful, so, if you”tre motivated to try it; Why Not ?

Low carb is my typical diet throughout the year. Been low carbing it since I was 16y/o. Chicken, steaks and fish are my main staple followed by mostly green veggies. Was never a fruit guy unless it came in juice form lol.
Avoid Jerk because it’s quite high in carbs.
Been avoiding jerky ever since companies started adding sugar/corn syrup to the recipes. I was in a world of p~~~ed off when I started noticing that. Now it’s a rarity I find a bag of jerky without added sugar.
It just always seemed like in the end I’d always have to count calories in order to get cut for summer. I will check out this Dr. Robert Lustig!
Thank you, Doc!

I’ve heard of that quote back in my vegetarian days lol. I want to say it was Dr. Gerson who said that.

I’ve always enjoyed my salads along w/ some grilled chicken or hard boiled eggs. I will be giving it a shot regardless just out of curiosity. If it works, it works. If not, won’t do it again.

You are welcome Micah.
I find it’s always better to experiment and modify as you go along.
Yes Jerky is filled with sugars compared to Biltong.

I have to do this quick as I’m on the way out for the day.
High protein low carb is a quick way to lose weight (not always fat as low carbers tend to lose muscle mass also). It is not a long term solution to health though and when you reintroduce healthy foods you will put weight (not necessarily fat) back on.
The salad diet you described actually sounds pretty good compared to the processed s~~~ I eat. You are definitely eating low calorie and not overeating in terms of total calories is essential. Again just losing weight is different than being lean. In the long term I would recommend a Whole food plant based diet. Get most of your calories from vegetables, fruit, whole intact grains and nuts/seeds/legumes/pulses/beans (whatever label is necessary for the fart producers). You’ll definitely hold more water eating that way though.
Use oils, processed foods, dairy and other animal products sparingly.
I understand it is difficult to shake the high density tastes of salt, sugar and fat. Unless you are good with spices bland is better and stay away from processed foods. My recommendations are generally for longer term health not necessarily for rapid weight loss although you can achieve that. Actual fat loss is a slow process once the pounds are on. People rarely lose a pound of FAT per week when they start dieting but can literally lose 10 pounds on the scale in a couple days.
You’ll definitely have rumbling in the tummy as the extra fiber in your diet is going to feed your intestinal bacteria and you’re going to s~~~ up a storm if you eat enough fiber. Hunger is a slight choking or tightening feeling in the throat around the costosternal notch. If you are low calorie long enough you’ll get that tight throat feeling (It happens if you fast for 20-24 hours).
If you follow the salad diet you described above stick to the lean chicken, fish, beef options and steer away from the four eggs. We get away with eating eggs because they are so low calorie but are generally s~~~e for the human body (62% fat even if they are hard boiled).
(How many readers’ mouths are watering right now thinking about bacon and eggs, mmmm).
Do not use oil on your salad. Refined fat is not how you get lean. Maybe use a blender and mix up the nuts or avocado with some berries to create a berry sauce with a little fat for your salads.Nutrition is a big topic and hard to discuss in short responses. And if this is only short term do not be concerned about protein intake. There is no such thing as protein deficiency in the western world.
Good luck and eat your veggies.
I might be able to jump on this thread again in about 10 hours and definitely by tomorrow night.Everyday above ground is a good one. Everyday above ground while single...better still.
Anonymous14An hour of cardio a day five days a week is a must if you are looking to truly get into shape, diet is only half the battle, maybe less. The two best forms of exercise that will not beat you up is swimming and biking.
When I did it, I built my exercise tolerance up gradually. Then I was able to do 30 mins cardio in a morning and 30 mins cardio early evening each day. 4 day split routine on weights, with heavy weights of about 6-8 reps. Don’t go over losing more than 2lbs a week, because you will screw up your metabolism. Don’t spike your insulin with sugar/refined carbs unless it’s after heavy weights.
Healthy clean diet. Nailed it. bodybuilding.com has good free advice on their forums.
May you walk in peace and happiness, May you and all mgtow, near and far walk in peace and happiness.
Not tried it myself, but some people rave about Apple Cider Vinegar.
Protein. Not salad. Salad will help you lose weight. But look at ex cons. These dudes do nothing but eat protein and work out in jail. I knew a guy who when he was in jail, would spend his time just working out and eating cans of tuna.
I find it’s always better to experiment and modify as you go along.
Precisely why I’m doing this now. I’ve gotten down to where my body is starting to “fight back” a little and the party is still 7-8 weeks away so I’ve got some experimenting I can do before I resort to my old fashion hardcore water & salt restrictions, double vitamin intake and spitting while chewing gum.
I have to do this quick as I’m on the way out for the day.
I won’t quote your entire response…you call that a quick response? lol I maintain a steady low-carb diet 8-9 months out the year. I diet down once a year just for the summer but haven’t gotten a ripped physic since I was 18 the one time I actually competed.
Long story short, I’m fine with the muscle mass I have on me now, no more gains for me. Just like to do this yearly PUSH to make sure I still “got it.” But this time I will be going to an extreme only for the first couple days before the party. When I get there I’ll be surprised if it’s maintained after the first 24hrs of being on the island. Water and salt restrictions won’t last once I crack open the single barrel Jack Daniels and start smelling the delicious chicken on the grill.
And thank you for your response. Very insightful. Some of it I was aware of, some of it new knowledge and I’m always down for more knowledge.

I look at it in terms of time spent. Time spent exercising only takes up a fraction of your day. Yeah, you need to make your time count during the exercises but a healthy diet is crucial so you’re giving your body what it truly needs to push through those barriers. I’ve always looked at it as 90% in the kitchen and 10% on the exercise. But like it was said by many others before “Everyones body is different.”

I never shoot for more than 1lb/week, steer clear of all processed and refined products. If I can’t pronounce the ingredient w/o sounding it out I just put it back on the shelf.
some people rave about Apple Cider Vinegar.
I’m not sure if it really works but when I remember to do it in the morning I take a spoon of it. Really just love the taste of it!

Anonymous43Teach your body to run on fat by getting rid of carbs. Carbs in bread, noodles and sugar in fruit is all the same to the body. Watch out for salt. Salt retains water.
burger in a lettuce wrap is awesome.
Anonymous18One Water/black coffee fast for 48 hours per week. Long-dick style.
Salad’s for bitches.
Take it from a guy who either ran or assisted the “Fat Boy” clubs both on his last ship and in his Guard unit for over fifteen years, diet is 75% to 80% of the battle.
You can’t outrun, out lift, out swim, out jog, or otherwise out exercise a bad diet. CICO works. There are guys who have eaten nothing but McDonalds and still safely lost weight because they paid strict attention to the calories involved.
Once you’re at the weight you want, you can start juggling macros, making cuts, and all the rest. Just get to the weight first.
And about tuna in prison, the various “snack packages” are very popular. If you want to use the same, just watch out for the flavorings they add.

A few weeks ago, I had lunch with my mom to celebrate an early Easter, and we both had a salad so good that I’m making it for myself at home. It’s a spinach and chicken salad. In it is handful of baby spinach, mushrooms, sliced tomatoes, 4 hardboiled eggs, chicken pieces, olive oil and red whine vinegar. Very good and easy to make and clean up after.
I need to lose weight and I’m trying out healthy foods and see if I like it enough to make more often. Let’s face it, junk food always taste good, but you need to experiment with health products.

Just an update on the experimental cut session and making some replies while at it.
My diet for 7 days
Salads mainly consisting of kale, spinach, asparagus, white mushrooms, beets with the leaves, bok choy, shredded carrots & heirloom tomatoes.
Breakfast: Big(big popcorn bowl?) salad w/ 3 hard boiled egg whites
Snack: 1 scp protein shake, medium size salad
Lunch: Big salad with (2-3oz)shredded chicken and 1/8 cup homemade bacon bits
Snack: 1 scp protein shake, medium salad
Dinner: Big salad with 1/8 cup bacon bits.Dropped 8lbs in 7 days and most of which was probably water considering I also cut my sodium in half from 6,000mg to 2,500-3,000mg/day. Jaw started off a little sore though from all the chewing of raw veggies. Overall, pretty satisfied with this experiment. 4 weeks till the island party and thinking I’m gonna stick to this but add some black/red beans to the salads for the next 3 weeks then do strictly veggies for the week before. Really never felt healthier during a weight cutting. The pallot is really enjoying all the veggies.
Workout was my usual 4 days a week of calisthenics along with 4-6 mile walk 3 days a week.
burger in a lettuce wrap is awesome.
That’s my preferred way to eat a ground meat patty. With a healthy slathering of mayo lol.
Once you’re at the weight you want, you can start juggling macros, making cuts, and all the rest. Just get to the weight first.
Which is exactly what I did(thumbs up) I begin with a good 20-30g protein and as many vegetables(mainly green ones) in 5 meals per day at 3hrs apart till I got down to where my body feels comfortable at and I don’t feel tempted by sweets and other crap. Was never a sweets guy but the drive-thru daiquiris here in New Orleans area are my weakness lol.
I need to lose weight and I’m trying out healthy foods and see if I like it enough to make more often. Let’s face it, junk food always taste good, but you need to experiment with health products.
What helps me best is making sure I eat a nice breakfast(3-4 eggs, sautéed onion, fresh spinach and white mushrooms for me) and to cook/steam my green veggies as little as possible.
Thanks for the responses btw on this thread. By far, health and nutrition are my favorite subjects to discuss.

Hey Prophet. Agree with above poster.. people have different body types/situations/goals – what works best for one might not work best for another.
I find a mostly vegetarian diet helps me to be lean/toned/energetic (note i wasnt looking to put on much muscle so i dont know how it works for that). I include fruit in morning, porridge with some soaked chia seeds (good for stomach) in morning, seeds and nuts, Spinach/veg smoothies, raw broccoli + mung dahl (both high in protein), hemp or pea protein powder or spirilina, raw milk boiled then add tumeric in the evening (good for sleep and easier to digest), (natural yogurt or triphala helps with gut if needed..)
I think some of the health aspect has to do with connection between veg and the body PH level/ acidic level.

Anonymous42I’m a white meats eater on the meat end but some red for the sake of indulgence, but grass fed beef only.
Spinach is my green go-to, I replaced all lettuce with spinach, then broccoli, peas, carrots after that, low starch, no high fructose sugars, they can’t be burned without first being converted to human fat, other sugars, not all, burn like alcohol in the system, I drink grape juice and other condensed juices, like kiwi, pineapple, and blends. Honey and Maple syrup are also in my cupboards. A good portion of my fat comes from nuts and seeds, but lately I’ve been chewing on some well cooked but not burnt bacon pressed and rinsed before eating, eggs too, but not steady, every few days for breakfast. Gotta knock off the bacon, bad habit developing.
ZERO soda
ZERO ALCOHOL!
ZERO FAST FOOD!
ZERO SALT! Except boiling spaghetti, wheat spaghetti, not white, loaded with peppers, onions, garlic, and sauteed in virgin olive oil. Yellow peppers add a kind of sweetness that’s way better than sugar, it battles the bitterness of tomato sauce and tingles the tongue with garlic.
EAT GOOD MEANS FEEL GOOD!
What some people eat and call food, I would heave my f~~~ing guts! Seriously! I would puke or suffer severe acid indigestion! My skin is crawling just thinking about it!
