I’ve been shaving with a safety razor as of late. I’m really enjoying it. Doing the whole shave brush thing with it as well. With my current work schedule I really don’t get time to do things I enjoy. However, I am now really looking forward to my mornings to pamper myself before work.
Anyone else shaving with Double Edge razors or straight razors? What do you guys do to get some enjoyment when time is short?

I still have a ton of the now discontinued disposable Gillette Mach 3 Turbos, but I might make a minor investment in a straight or double razor and give it a shot just for fun… thanks for posting!
We just don't realize life's most significant events while they're happening. Back then, I thought, "Well, there'll be other days". I didn't realize that that was the only day. - "Moonlight" Graham
YES. I’ve been using a double edge safety razor for 3+ years now. It’s like driving a Cadillac — smooth as silk.
Blades run about $.02 / per instead of $5.00 for any Gillette product.

Nope. I generally let my beard grow. If I need to cut it off (usually about twice a year, so I can wear a respirator for cleaning the chicken coop), I’ll cut it as closely as I can with my electric hair clippers.
I’ve been using the disposable Gillette razors all my life, but I’d really like to try a safety razor. Probably have a hard time finding the blades where I live though.
The evil in women’s hearts leaves them no moral bounds as to inhibit them from descending to the lowest levels of darkness to acquire their self entitled desires.
Great Topic.
The bug bit me pretty hard about 8 years ago. Dare say, it has become somewhat of a hobby for me now. I like experimenting with different soaps and creams, blades and razors. If you have not already, check out Badgerandblade.com as well as “Mantic59” on youtube. Once you get over the weirdness of watching another guy shave, it is enjoyable and informative.
1-My recommended shaving soap for October is Tabac. Affectionately known in shaving circles as “Man In a Can”. A great Fall scent.
2-Be careful with Feather brand blades. They are sharp.
3-Try out a slant razor such as the Merkur HD37C sometime in your life
4-Never rush
I have shaved with both straight and safety razors. It is an interesting old school Man skill.

Thanks guys for your posts and suggestions. I’ve been using a Van Der Hagen razor with Astra blades, Arko shave stick, and whatever alcohol based aftershave I can get a hold of. I do have some more products on the way. I really want to try the Tabac Shave Stick. Unfortunately due to my job and location it’s hard for me to get the products I really want. I’ve got a Muhle on the way and a Rockwell 6s on order.
I also have some Propaso products on the way with an Omega Boar Bristle. I’d really like to hear everyone’s opinion. Anyone else have some good suggestions for products? Also, anyone have suggestions of products to avoid like the plague?

My favorite soap is Mitchell’s Wool Fat.
Never tried a boar bristle. I know they do not hold water nearly as well as even the most inexpensive badger brush, but want to try one nonetheless.
Any shave soap you get at Walmart is garbage.
Astra blades are great! I also like Gillette Black, Blue and Red Persona Blades (Israeli)
There is indeed some garbage soaps and creams out there. None stick in my mind though.
Treat yourself to ACCA KAPPA hard cream at some point in your life. It is glorious. Do NOT get the soap though. Totally different
@crisp
I’ll keep that in mind about the ACCA KAPPA.Don't stick your dick into anyone you aren't willing to put up with for eighteen years and nine months.
Personally, I hate shaving, because it feels like a chore. When I do shave my face and chest I use my Gillette Fusion (5 blades).

I was into traditional wet shaving for a few years. I started with a double-edge, then found a nice shaving set with a stand, badger brush, and handle for twin-blade cartridges. I switched between the razors as the mood struck me, and I used a selection of soaps and after-shave balms. Unfortunately, my lower neck has some spots are magnet for nicks. Then I developed a small mole at the edge of my beard that bled a lot and took too long to heal when nicked, so I switched to a foil electric. It suits me better, but traditional wet shaving was a lot of fun while it lasted.
