REDWING doesn’t care too much about how many shoes they sell.

I use to love Merrel. Still love the shoes. But the quality has tanked so bad, I can’t ever pay more than clearance outlet prices. I purchased a pair from nordstroms and they told me they stopped carrying them. So I went to the website. Got a pair from there. THe lasted all but 1 month before one shoe started to fall apart. The glue on the tongue started coming off. This last pair, they are coming apart at the seams? And this is ALL when they moved their operations overseas.

Mind you, this is after 2 weeks of wearing the shoes. Rugged? They are not. THe can’t tackle being driving shoes. Or this case, Office loafers.

The warranty is good. But you can see why MADE in USA means something. And why they try their hardest to soil its image.

As far as expense, sure, you can get the $20 buck walmart special. Or you can get a pair of HAND MADE IN THE USA BOOTS for $179.

Damn things look like dress shoes. Not work boots. 🙂

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home

Men are funny about buying clothes. I think there is an informal “underwear” index based on measuring the economy based on how much underwear men are buying. If they are holding off it means the economy is really crap.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

I buy my pants at the local farm supply. I get my shirts at thrift stores (no way am I paying upwards of $40 for one shirt when I can find like-new shirts at the thrift stores for between $1 and $5). Shoes I do buy new — but I’m disappointed that the Ariat boots I paid $200 for didn’t hold up a damn bit better than $60 Walmart boots.

As for dress clothes, well… I don’t wear those anymore.

And yeah, I do miss Radio Schlock. There was a time, before they turned into a cell phone store, when they actually sold useful electronic components and hardware.

They can close the whole mall as far as I’m concerned.

Malls do not want straight white conservative christian guys who carry.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

Shunning working class men has nothing to do with it, in my opinion.
Closures? Changing tastes, markets, competition — all have an impact. I remember when Woolco closed all their stores in the 1980’s. Circuit S~~~ty, Radio Shack, A&P, and Blockbuster are some of the larger retail closures. Women are the primary buyers for retail for households — buying clothes for children, elderly, etc so they play a more important role than men in which retailers survive and prosper.

Look at what previously sold and discontinued. Much of the discontinued products, such as men’s clothing, tools, and furniture, appealed to men. While men are not binge buyers, they are steady buyer.
This is especially true of products and clothing used by working class men.
Men are the bottom line buy. The ones that balance out the budget of a business. They will come in buy a clothing annually, or even semi-annually, every year. But, men also prefer quality over style when is comes to clothing. Men work in their clothing, men want their clothing (and shoes) to last and not be destroyed ever ten or so machine washings.
On the other hand, women tend to binge buy. Women buy a lot at one time and try to keep up with the corporate created “trends”. Women will not shop regularly at the same place all the time. Women prefer looks over quality. Women do not care how cheaply their overpriced clothing is made as long as that clothing looks nice on them for the handful of times they plan to wear that clothing.
Those that took control of such companies as listed above were only focused on binge buying without looking at long term budget forecast. So, they disconnected products for men and focused almost solely towards women. This means that when they missed a “trend”, without regular revenue from men, their budget quickly went into the red, in a bad downward spiral.

Men are needs based buyers. Purpose buyers. We have actual reasons as to why we buy something, generally its to help us do something, a task, or for work, for a specific purpose.

Women are emotional buyers. They buy things to feel good. Which is why they end up buying so much useless, worthless s~~~ that clutters up the house and has no actual purpose getting anything done, or can be of use for anyone else but them.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

I recall being offered a catalogue during an instore promotion. The exchange sums it up.

    “Do you want a catalogue?”.
    “No”.
    “Why not?”.
“Because it has nothing I want”.
“But how do you know that you don’t want it until you see it?”.
“If I want it, I’ll know beforehand and then I’ll look for it”.
(Turns away, completely unable to grasp that this veritable kaleidoscope of rubbish should not be attractive).

The majority of people cannot fathom someone who doesn’t “buy into” comsumerism. It’s foreign to the masses.
