For those of you who don’t know Eat, Pray, Love is a book about a woman who gets divorced, jumps back on the carousel and eventually ends of marrying an older guy she met on her travels. Basically it is divorce porn for women.

So surprise, surprise last year she became 46 and decided to divorce her 63 year old second husband for one final ride on the carousel. The interesting thing, is that she is now dating her female friend of 10 years. It now seems perfectly acceptable for women these days to swap between dating men and women and people just accept it.

There is a woman at my work who got married last month to somebody she met 18 months earlier. She is 33 so I just assumed she realised the c~~~ carousel was slowing down so married a rich Beta wallet before it was too late. After a few rumours I discover the truth that she has actually married another (loaded obviously) woman. Is it the case that women who spend too long on the carousel actually become Alpha widows so badly that they end up marrying another woman? I suspect in 3 or 4 years she will actually realise she prefers c~~~ and will switch yet again.

My gut says the reason she married men before was because she couldn’t f~~~ a woman over in divorce court. The woman she is with probably has a good size bank account. If she’s not gay, she probably can’t find a guy who is willing to take on someone her age, as she’s at least in her mid-40s, so her body has hit the wall now. She either was always gay, or she’s straight and her hypergamy is kicking in, and since she can’t find a man with a high salary to f~~~ over, she can just use the gay marriage law to f~~~ another woman over and take her money.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the lack of men willing to tie the knot will result in women marrying other women to feed their hypergamous nature.

Two comments:

Women have a horrible sense of judgment. I have no doubt that this woman believed that if it makes her happy then it must be right. Anyone isn’t ok with that is judgmental and/or has unrelated problems. They just can’t seem to accept that their actions, while positive for them, are negative for others.

As for lesbians, women are primarily attracted to resource and protection. They want attention, and someone they can manipulate, but isn’t so manipulated by others. Being a man is a secondary requirement. So when men just aren’t meeting the requirements, but there are women that do, nothing stops them from switching teams. I think they are much more open to being bi-sexual for these reason as well as wider social acceptance.
