You often hear about people’s regrets in life. But how often do you hear about relief? Those instances when you are glad you had the foresight to do/not do something and were later vindicated with the results?

For me on of the things I am relieved to have not done is pursue my PHD. 20 years ago I was an up and coming philosopher and had completed my MA in philosophy. I was accepted to a few schools for a PHD but decided not to go because after two years of Grad School I just didn’t like the culture in the Ivory Towers, despite loving to read and write Philosophy.

Now when I see things like this:

    https://www.sott.net/article/383979-You-ve-lost-the-plot-Nigel-Farage-blasts-American-universities-after-seeing-tweet-about-cry-closet-for-students-to-sit-when-feeling-overwhelmed

    I am so relieved!

I guess you can also be relieved when you do something stupid and it turns out OK after all, even if only because of sheer stupid luck.

I am relieved that despite being married, having a 1/2 dozen or so other LTR’s I never got an STD, got divorced raped etc…

What about you guys? Any decision you made some time ago that leaves you feeling relieved knowing you made the right decision and avoided a lot of agony?

I have a doctorate in pharmacy…but that being said, i think college and degrees are a complete waste of time now. Sure i make a high income now, but i spent almost my entire 20’s pursuing this degree and racked up enough debt to buy a house…a NICE house.

The current college environment is stacked completely against men. Any of the women you meet can torch your academic career with one phone call, and you will never even know who did it or have a chance to defend yourself. You have to endure tons of liberal/SJW propaganda. You rack up an insane amount of debt, and you still have no guarantee of employment when you graduate. Quite a few people graduate with no job lined up or a s~~~ty job that doesn’t pay any better than jobs they could have gotten without a degree. Not only that, but many of the jobs are gynocentric feminist hellholes. (Big surprise, considering the fact that over 60% of grads are female and 100% of those females have been indoctrinated with a liberal/feminist agenda)

If i was a young man just starting out today, i wouldn’t even consider going to college. I’d learn a trade, start working and saving/investing asap, and of course embrace the MGTOW lifestyle to the letter. Had i done that, I’d be sitting on a six figure net worth right now, instead of paying off a six figure loan with a negative net worth. Things will eventually balance out for me and i may even come out ahead, but it will take many more years of working my ass off and it cost me the best years of my life and an incredible amount of risk and hard work to even get here.

Young MGTOW out there, if you are considering going to college, i HIGHLY recommend considering other options first. And to anyone who previously had thoughts of pursuing advanced degrees, rest assured you are not missing much and may have even saved yourself from a nightmare comparable to marriage.

Or you can feel regret and relief at the same time; such as when I drop a BIG one in the bathroom. I regret stinking that room up for the next hour or two (and the hallway next to it) for other people, but feel relief that I no longer feel pregnant.

People who go into the room after me, come out looking like they are going to cry. So I guess I turn a “water closet” into a “cry closet”.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

Totally. If you got to college for four years at a cost of $10,000 a year that is $40,000 in debt after 4 years. If you could have made even a small income over that time, say $25,000 a year, you are out another $100,000. That’s a cost of $140,000 for a 4 year education in both tuition and lost opportunity. I think most will agree my numbers are low and they do not include interest on the college loans or an investment return on any money you could have saved and not spent while working. This means the job you get AFTER a college degree would need to pay you more than $14,000 a year more just for you to break even by your mid-30’s.

I guess if going to college meant you would be doing something you loved instead of somet8ing you hated it might be worth it….

Of course my brother is a medical dr -partner in his own surgery don’t you know..

    so fcuking waht.

    So fcuking what…

I couldn’t give a fcuk about my university degree and neither does anyone else.

I just made my own little 2nd amendment post and wanted to congratulate you on your gunsmithing degree. As I posted elsewhere I have no interest in guns but they (CAN) be dangerous so If you are going to have one you mind as well be an expert.

I’m not mechanical either and I am always impressed when someone has these kinds of abilities.

Well, in my case it’s required to get PhD in my STEM area.

Xanthine, Zarathustra, you got me thinking once again on how to survive through SJW hell of academia.

I asked for advices on PhD in this theme:

    Advices on getting Ph.D. degree

Unfortunately, I cannot successfully accomplish my goals without it.

Guys, would you mind to give me some advices on this?

There has to be an office at each University that coordinates scholarships and bursaries and you have to contact that department and see what’s available. In my last year I found there were hundreds of grants I could obtain that I missed out on and that last year I applied for them and got a few extra thousand dollars. Its been 20 years since I was in school so I don’t know what other advice to give except this: If you get accepted to a program and get funding keep your nose to the grindstone and keep a low profile at first until you find which members of your department are like minded. You don’t want to make friends with some SJW nut and later have it come back to bite you.

    No S~~~!

The worst thing about Disco is that its the only music people remember from what was, arguably, the best decade of music.

Thank you, Zarathustra, really appreciate your prompt reply = )

Speaking of funding – glad to know that there is enough of opportunities for PhDs/Research & Development projects

I have a concern about possible attempts to forcibly involve me into some kind of social activities. They might be quite compromising.

But I’ll be keeping my profile as low as possible.

Who would to thought 60 years ago, that in order to get something useful done it would be required to hide one’s plans like a spy?

I hope that I would be able to get through it safely… in hit and run style

    Thank you once again.

If you are in STEM, you will not be exposed to the SJW/liberal propaganda nearly as much as you would in any other field, but it is still there. If you take your MGTOW knowledge to heart, you will ghost through it and remain unaffected, although it will be unpleasant.

It is important to remember that most college students are going to be liberal, feminist, SJW types. You should try to limit your contact with them as much as possible, and do not trust anyone. Be very careful not to express conservative opinions to anyone associated with the school in any way. Word will get around, and depending on who it reaches (and how much the SJW has twisted your words or flat out lied) it could have severe consequences. Offending the wrong person could even cost you your academic career. So you want to blend in or ghost as much as possible.

I also would not recommend dating or having sex with any of the women going to school there. They are all being indoctrinated with leftist ideals, taught that basically anything can be considered rape, and even ENCOURAGED to report consensual sex as rape. If they do this to you, your academic career is over. Their story will never be questioned. You will never receive due process, a chance to defend yourself, or even the right to know who your accuser is. You are guilty until proven innocent, and even if you prove your innocence you’re still guilty because that accusation will haunt you forever.

If it is something you really wish to do, I think overall it is a good plan and you should go for it. Even after all the bulls~~~ I’ve been through, I’ve never regretted it, and I love what I do…and you quite simply cannot put a price tag on that, it is absolutely worth pursuing if you know it is what you want to do. Just be careful…it only takes one slip, one mistake, and you will be subject to an extra-legal process which makes even divorce/family court look fair by comparison.

    Study externally if you must.

It is. I really want to develop myself further in my STEM area; it’s a necessary part of my own special way.
I’ll be very cautious about it.

Thank you for your advices, Xanthine, much appreciated.

I’m a doctor and have no regrets about possessing it.

But if I could rewind the clock 25 years I would set up a hot road shop. Cars is where my passion is. Not people. I’m a Psychologist and ain’t keen on people.
