The Red Pill is direct reference to a scene from the 1999 film “The Matrix” and symbolizes a preference for truth – no matter how painful it may be.

You take the blue pill, the story ends.
You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland ….
And I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

If that does not answer the question let me know.

But let me save you a trip.

KeyMaster I am almost positive that I have seen a post from you about how to prevent html code from getting put in the post when you copy and paste things but cannot find it. Do we have a thread somewhere that gives basics on posting?

@lazarus Long Im going to put this together and amend the forum ABOUT page AQAP for some tips about the new features too. Not today, though. Was wanting to do it last weekend, but some forum s~~~ pulled our focus.

For now, when composing a post, there are two tabs on the right VISUAL and TEXT. USE TEXT to limit your post to plain text as intended. Avoid the VISUAL editor because it preserves nonsense unnecessary tags and punctuation – which can create unexpected results.

    @pz1$

If you go to Youtube and type ‘Red Pill MGTOW’ you’ll find plenty of videos (of admittedly varying quality) explaining what the Red Pill means to men going their own way.

    PZ1,
I’ve always assumed it was a reference to the scenes from either The Matrix, or Alice in Wonderland, regarding a newly acquired ability to see a reality that had always been present, but not previously apparent because it had been invisible, or made to be invisible to someone who was meant never to see it for what it was. I never did read the full story of Alice in Wonderland so I can’t be certain, but in The Matrix, the taking of the blue pill is a choice that would have allowed the main character to return to his immersion in the manufactured reality that had been created for him, which was mildly comfortable, but totally fake, and essentially mental slavery. The taking of the red pill was an irreversible choice to acquire the ability to see the true reality which, though not as mind numbingly comfortable, allowed the character to see reality for what it actually was, and put control of the decisions governing his own interests in his own hands. The red pill represented freedom from slavery, but required the character to accept responsibility for his own best interests in a world mostly hostile to them.

Mgtow represents a very similar choice for a man. If he chooses, he can easily accept the role that is expected of him in a gynocentric society that basically intends to enslave him and extract from him his property, efforts, time and energy for the benefit of someone else. This role is not presented to him as the slavery that it is. It is presented to him as ‘being a real man…’, or ‘manning up…’ or some other version of that same manipulation. The presentation is that if he is a real man and leads his life for the benefit of someone else, that he will be respected, honored and appreciated for it. This is the fake, blue pill reality. But you will meet no resistance or hostility if you choose it.

The red pill is to see this manipulation for what it is. It sets you free from living your life for someone else, but then puts all the responsibility for your own best interests in your own hands. You can not expect to make this choice and still hope for the approval of those people who intended to benefit from our sacrifice. In fact, you can expect some ongoing hostility for it.

In the matrix, it’s a choice between comfortable slavery willingly chosen on the basis of a fake reality, or clarity based freedom made more frightening by the necessity of facing a real, but hostile one.

If you have spent much time accepting the fake reality that was created for you, seeing the real one all at once is surprising and disorienting, and this is part of both stories.

Maybe not the short version you asked for, but as clear as I could make it without repeating the entire stories in this post.

Maybe someone who has read Alice in Wonderland could comment on wether I’ve been completely off here…?

I would suggest you google Red Pill,
You’ll find “The basis of this philosophy, is that females get away with things by virtue of being female.”
“The Red Pill is a collection of ideas in the “manosphere,” a number of blogs that focus on masculinity and personal philosophy for men.”

Or as I’d put it the Red Pill is seeing things as they are, reality.

Asking that question is sort of like going to an English Literature class at University and  asking what is an alphabet?

    No @brainpilot you’re not off. You’re 100% accurate.

It’s widely known the Matrix is directly inspired by Alice (hence the rabbit hole reference in the film) which is about navigating an alternate/skewed reality….. eventually arriving at your own level of consciousness. This is Neo’s journey in he film, Alice in the book, and the directors come out and say it themselves.

Never read Alice in Wonderland, or saw the movie…
    What can I say? I had a twisted childhood… 😛

I know the story of Alice very well, and – here’s where it gets funny …. if you want to compare twisted childhoods…

In school as a kid, I played “the knave of hearts who stole the tarts” (Jack of Hearts) who is decapitated by the Feminist Evil Bitch QueenOfHearts.

    “Off with his head!!!”.

Later in life, I looked at it differently. It was about a PUA / player who “stole the hearts” of girls (tarts) and had his way with them. This p~~~ed the feminist bitch off because she wasn’t getting any dick, so she called for male heads to roll.

So there’s the BLUE PILL interpretation… and the RED pill interpretation.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Sorry if this sounds harsh on Pz1$ – but mate…you need to learn to Google, it ties in nicely to this whole taking responsibility for yourself theme.

It just smacks of either laziness or ingrained reliance on others that you want someone to answer a question that you could easily (and for me I ALWAYS DO) research myself first.

Apologies if there is some legitimate reason for not doing so.

I agree. This is something a woman would do. Showing up here and asking “what is the red pill?” is like eating a huge dinner and when you’re done, you ask the chef “so when do we eat”? It’s rude. It’s delivered at the very top menu. You don’t even have to join to get the answer. It’s pure lazy and I compelled to ask Pz1$ what the meaning is.

Now that’s the kind of MGTOW answer that is Red Pill.  Awoken men seeing reality as it is.

I was just thinking does anyone think women can ever become Red Pill?  I mean them being Blue Pill makes no sense as they are the benefactors, but I got to know a couple of older traditional mothers that have had their sons go through the divorce and custody / maintenance grinder, this topic got me thinking, can they ever come close to Red Pill awareness through seeing their sons suffer, or will their entrenched female perspective always take precedence?
