"Real" MGTOWs, TFLers and all that stuff

Hello fellow Mgtow.
So, I decided to start this thread after hearing a few Mgtow videos on youtube and see what are you guys take on this.

As Mgtow is gaining strength, I am starting to see more and more people making videos trying to define what is, or isn’t Mgtow. Now, I think we all can agree that Mgtows cannot be married, so I will not even touch on this possibility.

However, there has been some “discussion” about the difference between a “real” Mgtow, and a “fake” Mgtow (a la Aaron Clarey). Apparently, to some people, “real” Mgtow are those people that played the dating game and after having experienced a relationship, decided that women are not worth the investment of something more serious if any investment at all, while fake Mgtows are virgins, or people that didn’t play the dating game or were not successful at it for whatever reason (including, but not restricted to TFLers), and decided that women were not worth to bother. There was even one guy that I just heard saying that every man WANTS female companionship, and those that say that they don’t are either lying or there are something wrong with those people.

I personally thing it doesn’t matter. The road that made you a Mgtow is your own. The important thing is what you do with your life now, more importantly, if you worship pussy or not. I consider Mgtow either the player that got tired of the lies and drama, the father/husband that got screwed by the legal system or the introvert that was tired of being put on the friendzone. Although I would have to say that it would be of the person’s best interest to look after his health, as well as his knowledge, this is a personal matter and would not interfere in whether he is a MGtow or not. In fact, if you workout just to get pussy and nothing else, I think you are more a pussy beggar than a Mgtow, since you are putting a women’s interest in first place. It really doesn’t matter, on my opinion, if you still have sex or not either, those are your prerogatives, as long as you don’t put a pussy on a pedestal. Besides, the argument that to be a Mgtow you HAVE to be able to get pussy and then reject it is not that much different from the “man up” tactic tradcons use, since your status of a man (and of a Mgtow, by those standards) depends on female approval.

Mr. Clarey is doing what he does to make money.  Trashing the competition to make one’s products look better by comparison is a viable marketing strategy. After all, a dollar that goes to Thinking Ape, Bar, or the Lord of Croatia is a dollar that cannot go in to Mr. Clarey’s pocket.  Furthermore, any backlash that arises will be of no consequence as MGTOW were not his customer base to begin with.

I now regard him as an adversary and may even create a MGTOW youtube channel to debunk his videos.

I didn’t do this thread to generate friction. I am just curious as to what is the position of other people regarding this “trend”. I personally never gave much attention to this sudden worry about “how did a Mgtow became a Mgtow”. When it comes to this I am with RBK and Bar Bar when they said that it really doesn’t matte how you got here or if you still have sex with women or not.

Anyway, like I said, I was curious about the position of you guys, and decided to ask.

Since I came into contact with MGTOW I’ve always considered the very core of MGTOW to be ownership of ones own life. There are a lot of demands and expectations of men and ignoring all those and doing exactly what you want to do, going your own way, is for me what it is all about. In a sense, that is actually true equality. I do believe a MGTOW can have a relationship with a woman, just no marriage because of the anti male laws. I believe a MGTOW can have female friends since the gender of a friend is not important, it’s about personal qualities and how you treat each other.

Beside that basic principle of self ownership, every person have to make their own definition.  The circumstances leading up to becoming a MGTOW doens’t matter in my opinion.

I think that’s just understandable. There is a brazilian songs that says: “What is rock and roll? John’s glasses or Paul’s gaze?”. So basically some people think it’s about what you do while others think it’s about what you are, and our brains are constantly trying to organize anything we do according to one of these two statements. But in this case maybe it’s not an effort from our own members, but an external effort to define us, so we can be better fought. We have nothing to gain by defining MGTOW.

I totally agree with you. I suppose some people realize they are on their way on becoming a TFL, and use MGTOW as a shield, like they were saying “I could get women, but i decided not to”. And if you ask me, i don’t see a problem with that.
Also there are always the smarter guys that can see the troubles and make their decisions earlier, thus becoming MGTOWs before being burned. How could we judge them for being smarter?

self ownership and self definition should be a right of every man that chooses to go his own way. Anyone who tries to define someone else is trampling on that persons rights. Is the definition here not clear enough?

There are no True MGTOW just like there are no True Scotsman.

I’ve spent more than a decade as a TFL guy. This has changed recently as I became stable financially and lost a bunch of weight. I don’t pursue women and I reject their advances. I consider myself MGTOW. As far as this discussion applies to me, I am MGTOW and I don’t care if anyone disagrees.

This rationale is the same reason I consider married men MGTOW. MGTOW is a mindset. Do what you want with your life. Put yourself first. Call yourself what you want, who gives a s~~~?

Men going their own way.

It’s that simple, weather or not your a MGTOW or not is up to you and your peers. You can be a self-proclaimed MGTOW and be getting f~~~ed in the ass by your wife’s strap-on every night, but just because you call yourself a MGTOW doesn’t mean that i will think that you are one.

Just like hackers, or other “prestigious” titles and labels, it’s all in the eyes of the beholder.

I’m a real elitist, so i’d say maybe half of the people on this website are MGTOWs in my eyes 😛
