I dont want to go in depth with my story as its kinda unique and could identify me. Long story short,I was in a relationship for 15 yrs.Had 2 kids and raised her 2.She worked minimum wage part time maybe 9 months in the 15 yrs.
We moved to her hometown, she began seeing her sisters ex husband [coke dealer] and that was the end of that. She recently married the loser after he nearly died from some s~~~ because of course she didnt want her meal ticket dying and not being able to collect social security. This all happened 20 yrs ago.To me ,its like it happened yesterday. When you get betrayed like that you never forget it. She never took me to court because she was still married to her first husband.AND I’m sure she didnt want to tell the judge what her boyfriend did for a living. So she actually got a job and stuck with it.And she got a drivers license which she would never do since it was easier for me to drive to shopping, schools and all that.I went on a cross country drunk for 6 yrs.Got DUI”s in 3 states. But I finally snapped out of it and my life is fine now. I met an older woman, helped her fix up some homes she owned an we started living together. No kids,no drama a real partnership like you cant find.Anyway guys if you search hard enough you can find peace.

And the reason she left you for him?

    Let me guess ..

She just wasn’t happy. You were never there for her etc.

Just be careful with this new one ..

    AWALT

Become paralysed or have a stroke and see if she sticks around.

If she does, you truly have found a unicorn.

    But

    But

Damn, should have tried that befor I got married.

When you find yourself in the majority, it's time to reflect.

Enjoyed your paragraph. Welcome and thanks for making it.

But peace was something I never “found”.

I had to cultivate it and insist on it, and eject anyone who came in the way of it. I f~~~ing hate nagging and badgering more than anything in this world.

I even had that conversation with my parents once. We were in the car when my Dad was diagnosed with cancer and had not much time to live. They bickered the whole way about gas prices and I lost my temper swearing I would never ride with both of them again. 2 weeks later, he died, so the prophecy came true. He finally got his peace…. but I wasn’t going to die to get mine.

I wanted to live in peace. When I come home, I want an atmosphere as restful as an undiscovered tomb. But if there’s one thing I have learned….

Let a woman in your life, and your serenity is through.
    She’ll redecorate your home,
from the cellar to the dome,
Then go on to the enthralling fun of overhauling YOU.

It’s not just a famous song lyric.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

She left because he had more money and a house.
Its just that simple. When they dont need you anymore they’ll drop you like a hot potato. She proved to everyone what a slut she was by f~~~ing her sisters ex.Now her stepson is also her nephew and my sons step brother is also his cousin. What trash. I saw it coming.

I totally love coming back to my own place and the peace I found there. I don’t think it’s a case of ‘searching’ for peace. The peace comes from giving up on searching. It’s not adding things to ones life but taking things away from it ; dress and a toxic nagging person

Everyone has their own road to follow. In my case it was a cross country search. You can describe it many ways but the result is the same.
