re: Star Wars EPVII post becoming ugly

I posted this in STAR WARS EPVII but decided to re post because it will get buried and unnoticed among all the
love/hate and arguments posts about the movie.

Being a science fiction buff as many of you are, I would like to see this movie. However I struggle with two facts about its making.
First, as a piece of fictional art for entertainment and secondly, an overwhelming sign of political and social reality.

Will I allow myself the luxury of being entertained by this movie or will I watch it and hate myself afterwards for watching something
that has content which I’m so against, . . ie: feminasation doctrine in art form.

I decided, “f~~~ it ” . . . I’m not watching it because of simple principle, that the movie is about female empowerment targeting
the young and impressionable and giving feminists & feminised c~~~s an uplifting story to feel good about.

This brings me to the last point in my reply to the post here.
While I do not give a flying f~~~ about the pros and cons of the movie and do not care to dissect it into tiny bits and discuss
its content to death, I see that the subject of this movie is driving a wedge among our members.

Is this what we want ?
Is this so important that almost half of the posts are turning so contentious, that some are hinting that those that they do not agree with may be of female gender or not intelligent ?

Gentleman, come to your f~~~ing senses. Do not cause a split among yourselves over an obvious female orientated movie. It is as simple as that. I do not advocate that you do not watch it, but do not cause rifts over a f~~~ing movie.

You mean the part when at peak times quite a few posts are getting buried under the enormous traffic at times (by aging too quickly to be noticed properly), so you might want to consider asking Keymaster to maybe address that quite valid point.

Now upon your own re-post I did get that point in itself as well and thus I actually refrain from re-posting my own post never minding that it was about a pretty good recent mgtow movie review by one of our prominent content producers on youtube, because yes, you’re right: that film actually did put some kind of rip through our group, which it damn well really shouldn’t have, so in truth let’s forget about it and try to calm down a notch again from that, shall we guys..?

I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Back to the plantation..? Me..? Hey, literally: I won't ever fucking kid myself...YZERLMNTSIC

Oh erm, one other thing about the posts getting outdated too quickly. Another remedy that could help is maybe if everybody tried a kind of “think-harder-before-you-post-just-about-anything” or respectively like the old “quality-before-quantity” approach of general posting ethics. Okay surely not everybody can do that all the time and neither can I at times (hands up I admit!) but I did my very best to try to stick to this afore mentioned rule myself as best as I can and pretty much from the very beginning when I first signed up here almost a year ago…

Well fair enough some of my even better posts get lost in that way, too (some of which I tend to re-post and some others that don’t deem as worthy I don’t) but snow what..? That’s just the way it goes sometimes particularly whenever spaces get more crowded as time goes by, or as Lemmy (bless his heart) would put it singing (“Ace of Spades”-like): “You win some, you lose some it’s all the same to me…..”

Stayed away from the thread because I don’t give a s~~~ about Star Wars movies after the awful prequel trilogy.

I’ll stick with the EU and TOR stuff. Anything touched by DIsney is dead to me now, including Marvel movies.

Which is dumb as f~~~. They’ve had female Jedi’s since Phantom Menace back in the 90’s. And before that they had a female Jedi in the Expanded Universe back in the 80’s. Did these people even watch the original trilogy? Because it was explicitly stated that Leia had the force and could have been a Jedi if she was trained…

Exactly. Combine that with the history of the movies, TV shows, video games, and other Star Wars media, you have a plethora of diverse Jedi of genders and races. This isn’t anything new.
