    Another one bites the dust.

    Link: http://dallasblack.com/entertainment/dmx-to-pay-61k-music-royalties-to-ex-wife-for-back-child-support

Extract: “Our friends over at theJasmineBRAND.com are reporting that DMX (real name Earl Simmons) won’t be receiving any music royalty checks anytime soon — because a New York judge ordered his ex-wife to be paid over $61K from his record label to cover his child support.

Last year, a company named Amusing Diversions filed suit against DMX’s label Universal Music in an attempt to get the label to hand over money made from his royalties to pay off a $242K judgment they won against the rapper. The company said they had been attempting to get paid for years.

Universal Music explained in court documents they had been served with child support withholding orders from his ex-wife Tashera. The music label said she was to be paid $15K a month as part of their divorce. Also, she was owed $140K in back support from the rapper. They said that was Tashera was a priority, via the order.

The judge residing over the case ordered that Universal Music pay Amusing Diversions a total of $33,377.66 by July 31st and to also pay Tashera a total of $45K by the same date. The judge also ordered Universal Music to return to court months later and provide accounting of all DMX’s music income.
Then on April 13th, the judge ordered even more of DMX’s music royalties to be paid to his ex-wife for child support for their 5 kids.

The order explains that per accounting records provided by Universal Music, DMX is still receiving income from his music. Per the court documents, the judge instructed Universal Music to pay Tashera a total of $61,336 from the money the rapper has made from his royalties.

The judge notes that Universal has until this week to pay Tashera the money and also show the court accounting for his future royalties in October in court.”

Lol @ some of the people trying to justify this bulls~~~. Funny and relieving to see that some people are waking up to and calling out this bulls~~~. Since when does a kid cost 3K a month to raise?

Yeah its f~~~ing rediculous, how does the system work in the USA? Is it a percentage of your income that goes to the ex wife to look after the kids?

It’s f~~~ing stupid that child support is set at the rate of income when the relationship dissolved. It’s assuming that everything is going to stay the exact same for 18 years. If DMX started slowing down and making less money during the partnership that’s fine, but why do the courts assume the children need to have a consistent “lifestyle” for 18 f~~~ing years?

    That’s nothing compared to Nas.

He ended up having to pay over 50K to Kelis for child support. That’s f~~~ing ridiculous.

Sorry to say this, but I have zero sympathy for these rappers and loads of sympathy for the kids.  Something about rappers gets on my nerves.

Yeah women are oppressed alright. This bitch is getting 15k a month and probably just sitting around all day f~~~ing other dudes and hiring nannies so she can go out and have fun all day. What is stopping her from getting a job and supporting her child? Why does the man always have to pay?

Child support should be a national figure like the poverty line.  It cost xx dollars per month to raise a kid, child support regardless of if mother or father has custody will be set at 1/2 that amount since the kid has 2 parents, and the non-custodial parent pays the custodial parent.  Anything beyond the basic cost to keep a kid sheltered, fed, and healthy should be at the discretion of the parents.  I really doubt a well off non-custodial parent would say no if little Johnny wanted karate lessons or little Sally wanted dance lessons, it would just give them the option of paying for s~~~ directly rather than subsidizing an ex’s lifestyle with no guarantee the money would actually be spent on the kid.

Its total f~~~ing bulls~~~ how the laws are set up now…15k a month is way more than your average family of 4 lives off…why the f~~~ should someone have to pay that much to support 1 kid?  It doesn’t matter how much they have…even if I was a billionaire I wouldn’t spend that much on my kids because I wouldn’t want to spoil them and raise them with no work ethic.  If the father’s standard of living is ridiculously higher than the mothers…maybe the mother should just let the father be the custodial parent and only take the kid on the weekends.

Five f~~~ing kids?   Jesus Christ.  Assuming DMX is banking over a million a year, $180k/yr to his five f~~~ing kids isn’t that harsh.

Yeah, his ex-wife will live comfortably, and parasitically, on that child support as well.  But god, you knock up a woman five times, and want your kids to have a decent relationship with their mom (rather than mom saying to the kids “you’re going to have to pay for those five I-phones yourself, or ask your dad” all day long) I think it’s actually proportionate.
