Thinking of quitting my job. I don’t feel that the job i’m doing at the moment is for me, although i sort of enjoy it. The biggest reason of why i consider quitting is my supervisor, he’s very narcissistic and thinks he’s the boss of bosses, he always moans, shouts, swears and always get in my face. I get the blame for everything, even if it turns out to be someone elses fault and he never comes to apologize. A lot of the time i get to do half of other people jobs too which is annoying but i can deal with it. I feel like if i stayed here this is as good as it gets and there’s no chance of progressing. I got no contract, as i only been working there for about 4-5 months so i can quit whenever i want. I got some money saved up to last me a few months, so money is not a big problem. What i would like to do if i quit is to get my drivers license, find a part time job, get in shape and join the military. Do you guys think i should stick with the job and hope things will get better or quit? I hope this makes sense, English is not my first language.

Piece of advice Marty; an introduction would be helpful. I don’t know enough about you or your situation to comment intelligently. But welcome just the same.

Get out of that job because it will take it’s toll on you . Leave on good terms or as best you can . Learn a trade in the military . A trade that always has work when building industry slows down is electricin or a plumber .

I joined the military back in the day, In My Opinion ,its NOT worth it.

No glory in watching people you know pass on.

As far as what your willing to handle, only you know. I , if I were you would start looking for another job prior to quitting the one you have now, go to the interviews land a job and then quit the job you dont want with some sense of security so you can keep your savings and purchase a car after you get your drivers license.

I’m 22 years old, still trying to figure out what to do with my life. I’m single, no kids, no debt. The job i’m doing right now is powder coating for a minimum wage. My goal is to be able to retire as soon as possible. Not sure what to say as i’m not much of a talker.

Well, if you really want to join a branch of the military, I have to warn you: you WILL be yelled at and blamed for stupid situations beyond your control (especially if you have a low rank). Take some time to really think about what you want—then go for it.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

Stay that way. Line up something else first and then resign from your job. On the way out the door tell your super to go to hell in such a way that he actually looks forward to the trip.

    Peace is > piece.

Do not join the military. Unless you value being used as a pawn and being sent off to die for the bankers and neocons within our government, there is nothing to be had there.

My suggestion to travel the world and think about what you want to do. This book should help:

I’m not of a talker as well. Get some skills and some F-you money before leaving the company. If you want to retire early, you will never be able to do it at a corporation. Best to leave and pursue entrepreneurial endeavors.
