I posed the question on this forum the other day about whether or not the US Government would sell out the Kurds and kow-tow to Turkey. Question answered. Now the Kurds will join the ranks of many other former US allies dumb enough to trust us. WAY TO GO! Geniuses.

What a sham, the Kurds are men and women who fight for thier beliefs and they are badass. I spent time in turkey on business, and witnessed the USAF fly sorties out of Turkey at sub sonic Speed.

Most Turks are moderate islam, and do not like the current governance. I have friends there. Leave the Kurds alone and they will take care of things

What is said in the press and what happens on the ground are often two different things,….especially when the CIA is in the mix, and it is happening in the middle east. The battle is far from over.

That sucks. The Kurds are actually good people.

It only took the U.S. nine days to throw them under the bus.

I find it amusing what Erdogan said in response to U.S. calls to limit Turkish action.

“The Afrin operation will end when it reaches its goal like the Euphrates Shield did. The US says it ‘should not last for too long.’ And I’m asking the US, how long have you been in Afghanistan, when will it end? You came in Iraq before we came to power. Has the time duration ended in Iraq? You are still there,”

I guess what I said about Turkey pivoting towards Russia back when the attempted coup happened is coming true. Gee, I wonder who backed that s~~~ in Turkey…?

A big strategic mistake for us to not make a bigger issue about this. And it would have been a good opportunity to clip Turkeys wings a bit besides supporting our allies the Kurds. Logistics are an issue in an immediate sense. These are not the disciplined Kurdish fighters of Northern Iraq. Its not a unified command, there is no where near the level of organization as the Iraq Kurds. We haven’t provided much heavy weapons or spend as much time training these forces.

But Turkey can only go about 12-15 miles in, a small buffer zone, before they run in to actual US operations. I’m just speculating, but that may be the extent of the mission and as the Kurds pull back outside the zone, the conflict will become low intensity once again on the Turkey/Syrian border.

I think it would make sense for the US to allow the Kurds in Iraq declare a fee state and recognize them in exchange for a nice big fat army/air force joint base on Iran’s border with the Kurdish region. There is a huge restive ethnic population that spans both borders, over half of which would now be protected by the US military presence in the newly formed Kurdish state. Iran wishes to adventure all over the middle east, what better way to focus their leaders attention back home.

I recall seeing TV ads from the Kurds after they held elections actually saying thanks America! How the hell we are not be letting everyone in the area know………..don’t mess with our friends………..is beyond me.

How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.
