Last weekend I read a national newspaper here in the UK.
Case one. Woman defrauded her employer over years and to the tune of£350,000.
Sentence : probation. White Knight judge said she’s not the sort of woman that belongs in prison
Case two. Same day, same country, different court
Male ( yep, you know this ain’t gonna end well)
He rode two stops on a train without a valid ticket ( value about £10 or less)
Sentence : a few weeks in prison.

Did you know that in the UK as a member of the public you have the right to complain about unduly lenient sentences to the Attorney General.

I have no doubt that someone will have already complained about it

The fact the judge said she was breaking the guidelines almost guaranteed that it would be appealed.

I hate white knighting judges. Someone should introduce that judge to my dear friend Louis. I’m on a first name basis, but you may know him as Louis Ville Slugger.
