Here we go again, this time it’s Stockport Magistrates Court handing out the pass.

Quote: Her solicitor, Robert Stewart, said it was “one of the highest readings I have ever seen, it is almost off the scale”.

Sentence: Drabble was also ordered to attend a drink-impaired driving programme, complete 50 hours of unpaid work and pay £200 court costs.

Compare this to a man who was less drunk, but received a much tougher sentence: Danny Mulcahy of Wernbrook Street, Plumstead, Greenwich was sentenced to 16 weeks imprisonment, disqualified from driving for 42 months and ordered to pay a victims surcharge of £115

Seems the guy was a repeat offender in several days. Also sounds like he hit a taxi and possibly fled the scene. So may have been charges for that.

They were both similarly drunk but from the article
“Speaking about the sentence Sergeant Andy Morton from the Roads Policing Group said : “To get behind the wheel and drive with this level of alcohol in your system is completely irresponsible and so dangerous, but to do it twice within a matter of days just beggars belief.”

Maybe it just gets less dangerous when you break the 130 microgram mark? As he was at 115 and she was at 145. So definitely a discrepancy in how it’s addressed in the articles.

The sentences definitely don’t make much sense when looking purely at the alcohol related charge. And she claims to be attending AA meetings. Isn’t the first thing they tell you to do, “stop drinking.”? Really hope they checked her attendance on the meetings, but can guarantee no one looked into it because women can’t lie about stuff like that. *gasp/facepalm

Hope that someday I may lead others the path I have learned. As Virgil led Dante through Hell.
