I told myself this year that I was going to take more chances at life regarding my line of work, pursue a dream I one day can see come to fruition. My old job couldn’t possibly pay me more than what I can do out of the company. Being one for about 11 years, I always had the fear of ‘what if I fail’, also I didn’t want to feel like I’ve made a terrible mistake for leaving a job of safety for a gamble at being great. But at the same time I was getting a lot of unfair treatment with my simp of a boss, one of the reasons why I had to. It wasn’t fitting my narrative and it was messing with my time when I can get into being a DJ (shift job). So I made the decision to be a DJ full time, trying to create a fun yet exciting atmosphere for people who appreciates music. I know that today’s kind of music isn’t some people’s delight of tone but I look at it as it’s still making a great effect in today’s world. I try my best to expand my knowledge of different genres so that I can be more versatile and open to different cultures. If there can be any kind of help needed to clubs or if you may know some promoters/club owners who are looking for someone, it would be greatly appreciated if you can lead them in my direction as I am pushing this the best way I can. This might be a reach but I told myself I’m not giving up on my dream. If you’d like to know more you can check my Soundcloud @ http://www.soundcloud.com/djsyrus242 or my Twitter link on the profile. Any kind of assistance would be more than helpful. Thank you gentlemen for your time, and cheers!

P.S. – I live in The Bahamas but I’m willing to travel to make a difference and a change. If this interests you we can talk more via email: desarrussmith232@hotmail.com

Good luck with your career, but know that this ain’t a promo-friendly website.

We just don't realize life's most significant events while they're happening. Back then, I thought, "Well, there'll be other days". I didn't realize that that was the only day. - "Moonlight" Graham

I’m going to point out a few things.

    1. LEARN CAKEWALK or ANY DAW software. Try out the FREE ones like LMMS that on both Linux (WORKS GREAT) and windoezs (Not so much,)

    2. SAMPLE EVERYTHING. Take a phone or something with you always. You never know when you are going to hear a new sound.

    3. Most won’t say it, but I will, No F~~~s Given- Do not see yourself as “Black, Negro, African, Kwanxa Superhero etc. You are : Desarrus Smith. And SMITH has a LONG reputation of Excellence. Live up to it. Don’t follow the labels, and don’t take advantage of that s~~~. That’s where all the rest go.

    4. Learn your trade. If you can’t Hook up a Entire PA system with lights and DMX controllers, Go back to your job till you learn how to do it. You got to know your craft man. its like f~~~ing without a Limpy. Ain’t gonna happen.

    5. Learn an Instrument. Its the sounds that you want to hear, and sample and try to mix that in.

    6. Your recording sounds flat. Learn how to mix in some air, and use some dynamic range. Study how Tiesto, and Ferry Corsten and of course Deadmouse.

    7. Follow trends, but try to Improve them wheel, not get on a new one. People are creatures of habit.

    8. Do Lots of Free events to get the feel for things. You will learn so much when doing this. And people are willing to let you use their gear if need be.

    9. LISTEN to some REAL Audiophile music and I know its BORING as F~~~. I love good recordings, but DAMN, the music kills me sometimes. There’s like no life in it. But go back to the 1920’s. Get that FEELING and you will be great.

    10. Watch out for other “Brothers”. You know what I’m talking about. They just use your ass, and want to ride on your coat tails. F~~~ THAT NOISE. As long as you don’t bulls~~~ yourself, you know that they are going to say they want to collaborate but will make you do all the work and be there just to f~~~ you over when your steam starts.

    11. HANG out with Old folks man. I know this seems counterintuitive, but if you want to get that vibe in your music, you are going to have to go out there and find it. Not everything in life is a digital effect.

    12. Offer up some tracks to be mixed on other Mgtow channels etc.

    13. Learn about MICROPHONES. If you can not tell the difference between a Sure, and Newman, you need to train your ear. Its not just the sound, its so much more to be a great DJ.

    14. Learn the Crowd and DO DIFFERENT SHOWS with different music.

    15. This is Important man. Your Black. You got to be different from the rest. One thing that all black Dj’s fall into is following everyone else. SHUT those f~~~ers up and stand out. Do NOT let the fame get to your head. A great show, is only one show.

    16. Incorporate new stuff besides sound in your DJ experience. The trap is, most people do the same old thing. Lasers, lights Video etc. Hit up whats going on that cool around the world and make it your own.

    17. A DJ is just a Performer. Learn your trade. Its all about emotion. Learn how to make that work. Sway the crowd, and EXPERIMENT on small crowds. (Hence free GIgs. )

    18. Most Dj’s are 2 channel. Imagine what you could do with a 7.2 or even 10.4 mix.

    19. If you have not learned basic musical theory of notes, Crescendos, Panismo’s etc, you should .

GOOD luck bro. Happy face Licking!

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home
