OK I have to apologize for the self indulgent nature of this thread, but I think you’ll agree that this video shows us all what it is to be a hero (and I’m not talking about being a white knight) but what it is to love your country (even though they now might be s~~~ting on you) and your fellow man.

It’s a bit of a long video but I ask you to watch it because it has moments of humor, irreverence humility and love of humanity that I feel very proud to be even remotely associated with men like these. I may never be the man that MSG Roy Benavidez was, but I draw inspiration from his ilk every day. Isn’t it a crying shame that our own governments and fellow humans treat our veterans so f~~~ing atrociously now?
