Yes, it probably wasn’t wise to show any rejection since she knows your name and where you live. I think the danger level is pretty low though. For one, I bet she gives out that card 3 or 4 times a day, getting calls from maybe 50% or more of them. She likely isn’t too bothered by your rejection since she can attention elsewhere.

Also, because she did this on the job, she is risking her job. Instead of rejecting the card, you could have brought it back to the shop next day and told them she is hitting on customers, with the business card as proof. I doubt it is standard procedure to hand out cards like that when giving a lift.

She is relying on the men she gives the card to be flattered and think they are special. At the very least, too surprised to consider getting her in trouble. Your rejection hopefully caused her to reconsider the safety of her approach.

Also, can you imagine if a male driver did this with any of the female customers? Grounds for immediate termination.

If you’re gonna take the card, the best thing is say “thanks” and once you’re inside, throw the card away. No need to be overly dramatic about it. So I agree on the taking and then giving the card back thing. Kind of a dick move. And it makes it appear as if you thought of the card as something more. Like you saw it as her attempt to pick you up. It doesn’t even need to be acknowledged on that level. Make it appear like that wasn’t even on your radar. Give the vibe to her like, at best she’s in the friendzone. That it’s strictly professional. But smile, say thanks, take the card, and throw it away once you’re out of sight. She’ll be none the wiser for it.

Here’s the thing… In the business world, it doesn’t really behoove you to act like a dick. So that means, no matter how much we might not like it, you have to play the game. Now, because the OP took the route of kind of being a dick, she’s gonna remember that. And what’s more, you can bet what happened will make it around the building. She’s gonna tell everyone else what an asshole you were and how rude you were in regards to giving her the card back. Now, should something arise where you need to use their service again, now the whole place knows and while what you did may be good for a pat on the back on here, that could ensure that things don’t end well for you in future dealings. You have to think a step ahead of these c~~~s.

I have to agree with IRuleMe’s last post. If a woman ever gave me ANYTHING, I would just say “thanks” and toss it out the second she was out of sight. As fun as rejecting them and acting like an ass would probably be, it wouldn’t be worth all the potential headaches.

Got it! I WILL have to use that service again…so I should have been more careful.

Either way it’s a lesson learnt. Still proud I did it, but I’ll be more mindful in the future.
