Protein World's Ads removed. Formal investigation launched

The ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) has launched an investigation and has forced the company to remove all of its current ads. It has also been banned from appearing in its current form again. Within the first couple of days a petition reached 50,000 signatures on change.com and a mass rally was held at Hyde Park.

This is an advertisement for a product that is touted to make the body (in this case a woman) look lean and healthy.  The advertising of this product is in no way different the the advertisement for a gym.

The ASA has not yet made a ruling but I feel this is really just a thing because of UK general elections. Already Conservative (?), Labor and Lib-Dem Mp’s have come out “against” the ad since they feel that will help them politically.I don’t know about that. Politicians are mind blowingly stupid and are generally the last to identify a trend and the trend I’m seeing all over is that people are getting sick of the hard left inquisition. Even people on the laft are starting to get embarassed to be accociated with these loons.

The ASA also has claimed on twitter that they are not a government agency and was quickly (and properly) asked:

What power have you got? Where did you get it from? In whose intrests do you exercise it? To whom are you accountable?

and

How can we get rid of you? You block journalists, it’s quite clear you aren’t acountable to the public.

Ironically i’ve started working out again, noticing i was beginning to pudge up some since i finished schooling. I’ve already ordered from this company and sent them a e-mail, thanking them deeply for standing there ground against these textbook definition terrorist. As for this ASA, i hope Protein World tears these people a new one.
