The return of XFL! in 2020.

Vince McMahon’s wife is the Trump administration. He said he doesn’t want politics involved, and wants it family friendly. So, considering how much the NFL is disliked now, and want to be boycotted to send a message about insulting the U.S troops, doesn’t supporting the XFL and making it bigger than the NFL (driving it bankrupt) due to the NFL allowing protests of police brutality, insulting the U.S troops, be a good thing to do?

Or, is it just a better idea to watch whatever you damn well want to watch, and forget the political B.S and just go with a good product?

The idea is to run the league right after the NFL is over. That is what the XFL did prior. It won’t try to compete in the fall, against the NFL, like the USFL did. The USFL failed when it tried to do that. Trump ended up watching a team he own come off as a bad investment that failed, due to this. Some said his pushing the USFL to play in the fall, had a role in it.

As for ratings with the NFL being down, there is too much damn NFL football on during the week. It used to be Sunday afternoon. Then they went to Monday night. Now they do Thursday night, and also go into Saturdays, and also Sunday night. Fantasy football plays a role also. One can get an excess of football.

I know the XFL also ran into issues, because they didn’t really show games local to markets. The play of it, back then, was akin to the second half of pre-season NFL football games. Still, He Hate Me was cool, as was the onside punt and how they did PAT conversions. They also had a scrum for the ball, rather than a kickoff.

Vince did a Q+A session at 3pm EST to talk about it. He said they plan to do exactly that. There’s going to be a set of rules that players will have to follow. He wants quality football, but he wants quality players too and was very clear nobody with a criminal record would be allowed to play in the XFL.
