I should say though that the Uk has plenty of guns.
And there are a lot of gun owners but the controls are far tighter than the US

You can’t carry in public period but you can be a registered gun owner if you can justify ownership.

If you want one becuse you like guns you have to keep it at a registered club.

Farmers and other people who need the more for their work can keep them with them.

Justify ownership? I find that criteria that to be completely odious and disgusting! I am an American and a Texan. I’ve been both my entire life, so that probably explains that.

I completely agree. It really is.

Back when I was a kid there was far more relaxed Laws on gun ownsehip. My dad had a few guns.
But there were a few spree shootings in the 90s and the Goverment wet itself. Laws were tightened.

Justifying ownership – is sometimes just a matter of being a member of a club and a regular user who shoots other people’s guns.
The club members can give you a refercne.

The Police HQ is about 8 miles from the town I live.
Each year they email out inviting applications for gun licenses.
