This morning as I as watching TV there was a commercial for a pregnancy test. Of course in the commercial the people were hoping for a positive result.

It made me wonder how many people buy a pregnancy test actually hoping for a pregnancy? For a married couple, the number may be high. For single men, it’s very close to zero. But what about a single woman? How many buy them hoping the trap has been successful vs. the one’s hoping they aren’t pregnant?

My guess it the number is probably less than we think it might be, but much higher than what any single woman would admit to.

That must be a weird business to be in. The demand is there, but it would be weird to work for a company whose product can give either the best or worst information in a man’s life.

But for the females it’s a winnings lottery ticket.

If she doesn’t want it that’s covered too.

I think it’s higher than even we suspect. Just look at the huge market for used positive pregnancy tests.

True, but also look at the number of abortions. That’s no small industry either.

Most abortions are done for married women who already have children and a man trapped into supporting her. Additional children only represent a financial drain for them. And as to the very few single women getting abortions, how many of them only decide to get an abortion after they find out the trap has failed?
