Post on some MGHOWs wall

Hi Gents,

maybe i missed the information, but what about this Post on your wall, in the activity stream?
I can insert a message but the Post Button isn’t active.

When I go to a member profile in the Activity, Post on some MGHOWs wall,(it also does not work) but in case it would, is this post only readable for the member?

You’re right, Hollowmile. I only checked it myself now. Same here. The reason why I only noticed it now is that so far I haven’t used this wall feature yet…

This is now fixed. Thank you gents. The “follow” button was also not active but it’s OK now. just start typing on the activity wall and the “post” button will become active. Thanks for reporting!

He sent it to us as a New Years greeting bringing up 2 points for everyone.

1. The way you can see your recent forums activity on your profile.

Previously everyone had TWO profiles:
• The front end (mgtow.com site) profile
• and the forums profile which ran with separate forums-only settings.

It was (and is) possible for someone to be a member without being a forums participant. We consolidated this into ONE profile on Oct 22 with a major overhaul of the members system. Having two profiles was confusing to just about everyone. Now you can edit your forums subscriptions , change your avatar, and everything ….. on the first place you arrive when you log in.

This was done for a number of reasons, but most importantly, it creates a separate entry for every member. When new features appear, we will know what belongs to whom. For example, when you uploaded an avatar, it was only the image that was associated to your member. So if something went wrong, we didn’t know what avatar belonged to whom. Now we do.

Also……..

We changed the way your previous posts can be viewed by employing a “load more” button. The previous way was to paginate them PAGE 1 / PAGE 2 / PAGE 3 etc. instead of a long never-ending list. I don’t know if I like the current way either and we’re thinking about increasing the list to (up to) 100 at a time which is better than 10 at a time AND better than paginating them.

2. The “follow” feature button.

Also done for a number of reasons not apparent (or obvious) right now. We wanted the ability to make profiles private for anyone who didn’t want their forums activity visible to anyone. So when you “follow” someone, it is to grant them permission to read your profile.

Just testing this on myself before we make it available to people. First we will ask if they want the ability as soon as we are ready. So the real purpose is to just give permission to select members you can choose. More on this later.

Another example:

At this moment —- for these members — we are getting rid of the problem of posts being held back in “pending” which can sometimes be held back by the default filter. It appears to be working for a few hours now. So mostly it’s just for testing things for a group of established members…….. and ……. as a way of allowing the user to grant permissions to members they choose.
