While only 15 percent of Americans are still smoking, it is the poor and uneducated who continue to buy and consume cigarettes, the Post reported:
“Among the nation’s less-educated people — those with a high-school-equivalency diploma — the smoking rate remains more than 40 percent, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Today, rural residents are diagnosed with lung cancer at rates 18 to 20 percent above those of city dwellers. By nearly every statistical measure, researchers say, America’s lower class now smokes more and dies more from cigarettes than other Americans.”
While there is no easy way to get everyone to stop smoking across the country, the Centers for Disease Control and other groups are ramping up their strategies in more vulnerable areas, particularly in the rural south.
Guys get serious about your health. If you smoke, give them up. Your lungs and body will thank you.
Thoughts?
It makes sense. I do not smoke nor do I put myself in secondhand smoke environments.
I quit years ago, and glad that I did. I do have a strong desire for cigars though, and will eventually get some when I am in a better financial situation. It is only a matter of time, I hope.

Anonymous8F~~~in A, man I quit smokin with cigarettes a couple years back.
Those federal excise taxes are mean, not only are the poor getting f~~~ed in terms of health but they are getting taxed at obscene rates.
I was 13 when I bought my first pack of cigarettes, must have been 1999 or so, it cost me $3.10, when I quit in 2014 a pack cost more than $10.00. You think the cost of producing cigarettes went up? I don’t.
Alcohol and gasoline are taxed at similar rates in Canada. Nanny state is the preferred nomenclature.
Now those lecherous swine are working on taxing marijuana, f~~~ them and their inability to spend those tax dollars helping the people who need it.

If that doesn’t help guys like Honda, Market~~~cher, and Jan quit, I don’t know what will. Drop that s~~~. It’s as bad as drugs.
A lack of will power and self-discipline usually show up in other areas of life.
That’s also why poor people tend to be fatter than well off people.
The greatest tragedy in life is to spend your whole life fishing only to discover that it was not fish you were after. - Henry David Thoreau
I don’t smoke, don’t care.
More money for me.
Cancer means quimo, quimo can give you kidney failure, that means money for me.
F~~~ IT, smoke all you want mother f~~~ers.
To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
I’ve noticed that casinos are filled with chain-smoking drinkers. It’s especially noticeable during the daytime or the middle of the night. Always poor people who look like pensioners and welfare recipients. It seems to be people who tend to make bad decisions often continue that trend into everything they do.
Shouldn’t be surprising the elite want the poor to die soon after the retire as most of their value has been exhausted. Not to mention poor people tend to have less self discipline (not all poor people). If I’m rich I’d want to preserve that lifestyle as long as possible. It’s an insanely expensive habit

This has to do with Socialist government and healthcare. When you are forced to pay for everyone’s health care then the government must raise taxes to subsidize it whether it comes from your check or on the s~~~ you buy.
Beer, Cigarettes even Soda will all be taxed to death because the government must fund its health care somehow as you cannot just let people be forced to pay for their own healthcare.
Traditionally a pack of cigarettes has cost half of minimum wage so if your pay is 3 bucks an hour the cigarettes are only 1.50 etc. Nowadays cigarettes go above minimum wage unless you go for a budget brand. Your average pack of malboro reds will easily be 9 bucks after taxes when minimum wage is 8.44.
In less socialist countries the price still reflexes the same way as i have said.
Just an east coast asshole who likes to curse, If you get offended by words like fuck, cunt, shit, piss, bitch or any racial slurs then you just scroll down.

Anonymous54Is that true, only 15% of Americans smoke? Hell thats pretty good.
