After a hell of a long weekend, and being told one thing from one guy, and another from the boss, I gracefully made my exit today from the last sight I was working on.

Man, from asbestos to all sorts of crap. I threw in the towel today.

This morning, a really good guy, but I can’t understand what he’s saying tells me that these cable drops need to be here. But the blueprint that I was given said, do this. Then up on the data center, one guy said, do this, the other guy said, “He does not pull cable, do it this way”.

After all that, and noticed that these guys were family, and seeing that one guy was doing something else, leaving cables where a nurse tripped on them, I threw in the towel.

Man, I don’t EVER want to work at an old Hospital again pulling cables. Or working with people who kind of roll at the seat of their pants with mismatched print outs of floors, where wire drops go. And the miscommunication on what we were suppose to do each day was epic.

But I held on till today, and after 3 guys telling me they are all doing something different, I gave up.

Pulling cables at a Warehouse, or new construction is easy as can be from working in a clean box, and having to move it 10 times to work around patients.

I have to admit, it was the hardest contract job I have ever had to do. Missing equipment, missing ladders, missing items, it was hell.

I got started on my Certification, but that’s about it.

And I am not going to miss my hands itching each day. That’s for sure.

Not working with a mask on up there, Holy crap. The pipes are not even covered in most places I was working at.

This place? THe ceiling wires were falling out of the concrete holders by just touching them. Places of the false ceiling, I had to rewire to other allthread just to make the ceiling stay up in places.

Just this morning, the job was to run cables to the boxes. Well, there was a box, but we did not have a wire for it. So when I asked about it and bring it up with the tech that was there, he could not answer the question, and went to go work elsewhere.

THen after waiting 30 minutes for his son to certify the cable, I’m sitting there going.. Um, How am I suppose to get this done before 12PM?

THen the boss asks me about the wire closet upstairs, I did not have the heart to tell him that the last guy cut the Zip ties, and the loops of the wires were pulled back down the tube.

Sometimes, its better just to walk away from the job, instead of getting into a family feud.

Great boss, but man. I don’t know how to work unless its from a blueprint, or hard instructions. Maybe I just like order, or knowing what we are doing. But Damn. I spent 6 hours trying to find cables that did not match up, were broken in the middle of the line, and just plain got sick of fixing and covering other peoples screw ups.

Man. Never work for family run operation. It Just does not work well. And its even worse when the guy who your suppose to be taking instructions from, can’t really speak english. Its even worse, when he goes against what the boss told me to do. So with that. Man I am glad I am out of there.

I really need to get my contractors license. That way? there is no miscommunication about what is going to be pulled. Everyone knows from the Blueprint, and not just Printed copies of what SHOULd be done that labels all wrong. And No more trying to deal with someone else’s mess.

I’ve pulled cables for 4 years. And that was the Hardest most f~~~ed up job I have ever done.

Damn, I’m glad I am not doing it anymore.

One more thing, if your working around old buildings that still have asbestos pipes and warning labels on them? And you see that the insulation on the pipe has been worn through from previous contractors on the site not giving a f~~~?

STOP WORKING IN THE AREA.

Do not take your chances with your lungs. I started coughing just working up there for an hour today. There are a ton of ways to go out of this life. Not being able to breath is not one that I am looking forward to.

If you see this s~~~ up in the ceiling,

And its broken, not wrapped, or the wrapping was damaged? Do not take the chance.

And if you see asbestos warnings and you don’t have at least a mask on? Bro, the money ain’t worth it.

Worked for a husband and wife business in my first job, it was a cafe/sandwich bar. The wife was the one with the hospitality and food knowledge the husband was just along for the ride. He would man the coffee machine in the same way the head prisoner will man a certain piece of machinery in order to display his authority.

Everytime we’d be doing anything the husband would tell us to do it differently, then the wife would come along and tells us to do it the way we were. We’d explain that he told us and she would tell us not to worry about him. Easy for her I guess.

Nope, family operations are a joke.

Things are only going to get worse since Trump needs to bring more immigrants to pay for the massive welfare state and the big government Americans keep voting for.

Trump applies sanctions to countries like Venezuela or Cuba then he allows their people to come into this country in record numbers, ever since that happened immigration from Venezuela into the U.S. is up by 150 percent.

Average Americans are taking in record amounts of debt and a lot of them are on benefits, you know we gotta pay for the boomers that moved to places like Costa Rica when they voted for benefits and it didn’t pan out the way they had hoped, they should’ve marched and gotten this welfare out of our government’s reach.

Everyone wants to be a chief now days, but it takes a great deal of sacrifice to start a business and be successful, failure is a very costly option in the Fascist USA, but if you are a big corporation with friends in Washington then you have nothing to fear! you are part of the USA CORP.

Agreed. Look, I feel for people that have it bad where they come from. But you at least need to understand Basic english if your going to be working with others on a project.

It’s fine if you are working at Fast Food, but a more technical job? Where you run into problems all the time? THat’s not going to work out well for anyone.

How about not sanction them and force them to leave their country? let them deal with their f~~~ing problems man, this government is always starting s~~~ then Americans that live in the U.S. have to deal with immigrants that are not assimilating and that don’t want to deal with other people there.

I get everything that you are saying Mickey, but people don’t learn a language from the morning to the night, the situation there is so bad that people are eating from the trash or eating street animals like stray dogs.
