This is an interesting thing, and I’ve seen the same trend with newspapers here in my part of the world. Some female is given the editorial power of the rag, and from then on it goes downhill. The example I’m thinking of is a leftist-rag that’s close to bankruptcy as I speak. They’ve been doing their thing for over a hundred years or so, and had a decent following.

Then you have these news-outlets trying to stem the drain with the pay-wall, and of course, since you get news free somewhere else, it’ll fail. They all fall for this, and never seem to learn from each other. It’ll only be a matter of time before they’ll have to scale back their pay-wall if they want to compete on the open market.

It’s not just Playboy, but every news-outlet following the same pattern. You’ll soon see a pay-wall for the most high-quality porn, but since we get a lot of it elsewhere, Playboy will never break even. If they had played things smart, they could have made the move to internet decades ago and created a following, sort of copying the VCR-story (the claim that VCR became the standard video-player, because of porn; beating out Betamax).

But we’ll see the death of paper-porn, and since most of us use AdBlock and Ghostery to prevent 3’rd-party viral infections, the old click-bait won’t work either. It seems the well is drying up and there’ll be panic in the air as theses media-houses starts to devour each other. Only a few will survive, and that’s because they’ll be very aggressive when it comes to people sharing stuff online, sort of mirroring what happened with the Piratbay.

The best avenue to get porn will be through video-games, VR-setups and sex-robots. And that’s what Playboy should be focusing on, to create content for VR-distribution. If they were to divert some of their income to the new sex-market, they might survive.

That is pretty much it. In this day and age, where you can get WAY beyond what Playboy had done, all they now have is the Playboy lifestyle.

Yup.It disturbs me greatly to see these garbage infiltrating various things like open source projects. Like that blue haired, fat, psycho, SJW, freak named Randy. It managed to get one of the projects to apply a no harassment policy and code of conduct to the community.
