I was at the Pistol range testing out my reloads with a new powder.
In the lane next to me, there’s a guy showing his girlfriend how to shoot.
It was obvious she had never shot a pistol before(which is fine, there was a day when I had never shot a pistol either).
What concerned me was that she was more interested in taking a selfie holding the pistol.
As she was waving the (loaded) pistol around trying to take a picture of herself, I told her boyfriend “if she points that pistol any direction other than downrange, I’ll have the range officer make both of you leave. I came here to shoot, not get shot.”
She says “It’s not even loaded.”, and I say “ALL GUNS ARE LOADED!”
And sure as s~~~, she points the gun right at me, I duck out of the way, then RAN down to the first lane where the range officer was working with another shooter.
I told him what had happened, and he comes back with me and said “If you point that pistol at him again, I’ll have to ask you to leave.”
I said “AGAIN??? F~~~ that, I won’t give her the chance!”
I packed up my range bag and left.

And I have no idea why the Instructor was so tolerant to that…. baffling. I would never allow myself to even joke around like that.

I shot only PM (Makarov) at Gun Range, when I was visiting Moscow, learned about it. and was instructed to respect people around me and firearm itself. When I reloaded or unloaded and double checked – the barrel always pointed towards the targets/wall. Never left or right from me. Never towards anyone.
This is insane dude.

He should really pay somebody that doesn’t “love” her to teach her how to use a pistol if he’s afraid to give up his access to her by correcting her to make sure she’s safe.

I’ve had my share of range safety incidents. You did well to leave since he wouldn’t correct her. It’s always better to not fight a white knight and his Princess. She’ll break him soon enough if she doesn’t take the side of her own face off.

I used to hit the local range a lot until seeing some f~~~ery from people who rented guns and wanted to “try them out”. People shooting the target stands, not cleaning up after themselves, take stupid pics etc.

Now I only go to private ranges..

Seen one mangina go with his wife to the range. She looked p~~~ed upon arrival. He pulled the tag from the trigger guard (brand new bolt action hunting rifle), shot it THREE TIMES, and left!

Didn’t pick up his bullets or even looked at the target..
