I’m sure most of you are aware about the post I put up the other day about trying to get rid of my cats.

After finding out the adoption agencies were worthless (considering I have to have them out of my complex ASAP), and finding out that shelters and places like them all charge over $100 per animal to take them in, I decided to do some further research in the matter online…which is what brings me to write this today.

What I can’t stand are these animal-worshiping websites and people that love to put you down or emotionally attack you as some monster because you can’t either afford the pet anymore or can’t handle the pet anymore otherwise.  “You don’t NEED to get rid of them, they’re like your kids!”  I’m sorry, I just don’t equate animals to young humans that need my care.

As a part of my budgeting per month as I’m trying to SAVE money now, I’ve found out I’d save quite literally hundreds a year without them.  I got these animals when my ex was living with me last year, so I thought handling them would be no problem with her help.  It really wasn’t a problem…until she moved away.  Now that she’s back (living with her parents and the new guy she brought back from where she moved to), she can’t take the cats either!

Now I’m feeling quite literally STUCK with them.  I can’t take them to a shelter because I don’t have even THAT kind of money right now, I can’t give them up to an adoption agency because I’d still have to hold onto them until someone wanted them (which the agency said could take MONTHS if at all and I’d be better paying the $300 per animal pet deposit).

Any other options out there?  I hated having to post a “part 2” to this, but the online research just really annoyed me with the borderline-personal attacks they make when someone is faced with a tough decision like this, but I’m honestly not sure WHERE to go from here.

F~~~ her cats, they are only as alive as the bacon was that she ate for breakfast. Drive them to a nice neighborhood and let them go. I personally guarantee some lonely woman will feed them.

(Or not, but who f~~~ing cares! You think she would take care of YOUR cats if you reversed the roles?)

Drive to your ex’s and drop them off there, no words need be exchanged.

Don't let them Blame, Shame or Tame you!

Hey Megachris%, your percentage is dropping faster than a Wall Street sell off!

I’ll tell you a story about a guy “exactly like me” who took in stray and abandoned animals. One time I, I mean “this guy exactly like me”. Who took in a stray cat that was starved where all its bones were showing through it’s dried out unhealthy coat, Any way “this guy” fed the cat back to health. Then one day to show it’s appreciation the cat got angry and scratched “this guy”! The angry cat was tossed in the trunk and driven to the next town over, upon opening the trunk to ask the cat if it needed anything, it leaped from the trunk and ran away, PROBLEM SOLVED!

I have another story about “this guy” who took in “two” fence smashing, lock picking goats. These goats took a ride to greener (fence free) pastures, in the back of my, I mean “this guy’s”, pickup truck.

Be kind, be considerate, drop “her cats” (hand them directly to her) at “her house” and walk away. Make her responsible for aborting the cats!

If you don’t, I’m going to start calling you Megacat43%, or Catchris43%?

There was a report that came out a couple of months ago talking about how PETA euthanizes over a million pets a year.  There are way more pets than homes which is why Bob Barker got in to the spay and neuter business.  Pets ARE like children in that they are way more expensive than they appear.

Anyhow, I live in a small town with a small shelter and they would take your cats…and give you the obligatory stink-eye.  Since you live in Texas, this will not work.  But, you may want to try other shelters that may be within a bit of a longer drive.  Big city shelters are always full.

Another idea is to tell the ex how you can’t take care of her cats anymore and how you have to let them go free in Da Hood where everyone has pit bulls.  This may activate her protective/guilt gene.  But since women abort/kill their own children because it’s a social and/or career inconvenience this may not work either.

Take a cute picture and couple with a sad story and post it on Craigs List?  Ask the cat lady up the street?  Stand in front of Wally World with a big card board sign…FREE CATS!  Dump them at the local Golf Country Club?

    Good luck

Do any of the animal shelters have an anonymous drop-off points?

    I would check for that.

Another option.  Take the cats to the animal shelters late at night.  Each in an individual carrier.  Then leave them there.  I don’t know if they are chipped but if so, who’s information is tied to the chip?

This may be a workable idea.  It worked with babies for centuries.

Put cats in cat carrier. Plenty of water and a few biscuits.

Drop them off at your ex girlfriends parents place at night, a nice little morning surprise. Women love surprises.

    No note. No nothing.

No guilt or remorse. They’re her f~~~ing cats.

    You owe her no favours.

To be fair, the male one is mine, has been fixed and has his shots and all that jazz…but even ONE cat is becoming too expensive for me.  The two we “shared” (him and a girl) and they had three kittens before I had the money to fix the boy (this all happened AFTER the ex left).  My ex has been helping me post them on Craigslist and asking people online, but either no one calls or our posting gets taken down because cheap or free pets are discouraged.  I hate to say it, but no wonder there are so many strays out here!  There’s nowhere to take them!

Burlap sack, some bricks, a body of water and some twine. That’s what my grandfather did right off the dock. Guess the crabs got ’em in the end.

Yes, I’m out drinking. I only have one cat. My mom’s final words to me were to take care of her cat.

Thank god we are talking about cats and not kids.

She would be clamoring for custody, and you would looking at serious financial issues.

The city park is a great place for cats.  They wouldn’t be in your apartment.

    Harden your heart my friend.
