I think the question is, is this the state you want to be in. What do you want? Are you liking how you feel? Are you content?

The world can think what it thinks about you, but it will never share your pain and suffering. So if you are suffering just to live up to how the world wants you to think, it ain’t worth it.

Pessimism, cynicism, whatever ism it is, I don’t really think it matters much. It’s neither positive nor negative. Now, if you want it, if you like it, if you are happy with it, if you are thriving, then f~~~ everything else, it’s damn good. If you’re in pain because of it, then maybe it’s time to introspect and switch gears.

An optimist says: “The glass is half full.”

A pessimist says: “The glass is half empty.”

A MGHOW says: “Buy your own drink lady.”

“Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist.”
    -George Carlin

Most MGTOWs really care about things or at one time did. That’s why it is so painful when we learn the truth. We see the unfulfilled potential of our own species. Deep down we still do and want people to truly wake up. We would celebrate and be the first ones to burn down the white house. We question why the heck others have not. It’s like a freak show. Once you realize how messed up the world and that you can not do much about it you take a back seat. That or the pressure gets to you so much you overdose or shot yourself. Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Doug Stanhope, and Keymaster. We care but we see the ship is sinking.

So never feel bad about being a pessimist. At one time you expected the best of people. Then you merely saw how things were. Instead of swallowing a lead projectile you wised up.

It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything

I will admit to being a pessimist under many circumstance. I am risk adverse for the most part. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I’m very content with where I’m at. For example, I could go have gotten into contract work and brought home more pay, but I preferred the stable job of employment at a corporation. I have been envious of friends that were willing to take more risks then I did, but again, I like my stability.

When it comes to dating/relationships, I don’t think of all the things I’m not doing with a woman, I think of all the things I get to do since I’m not limited by a woman.

    Ok. Then do it.

    This.

    Pessimists still care.

    Realists simply accept.

As men going their own way, we must accept the facts while weighing our options. We must acknowledge reality.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

Any open ended contract that leaves me open to staggering liabilities and prevents me from acting in my own healthy self-interest for little or no gain is a bad contract.

Great advice for a business contact, balanced and objective advice.

But if is referring to a Marriage contract, then it is “pessimistic” ?

That’s like saying “AIDS is a bad thing to catch” is a pessimistic statement.

Even if it is a “pessimistic statement”, I will still pass on deadly infections and bad contracts, thank you.

“Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back.” Oscar wilde

I think a realist would demand it back.
