You’ve got some big hairy b~~~~ doing options day trading. I suppose investing in triple inverse fund would be riskier.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

I’ve looked into short term trading. I just remember what the Godfather said in his meeting with Sollozo. ” Your’s is a good business, but it’s a little dangerous.”

It’s extremely risky, as you will find out soon enough.

I’ve found that options have some usefulness as a hedge, for some limited income generation using covered calls/selling puts, or to reduce the ACB of stocks you otherwise want to own.

But to day trade, no way.

I'm going my own way. Maybe I'll see you there.

over 90 % of short term traders go broke.
The FASTEST way to go broke is to write naked options.

You can make money trading options. You can lose too. The object is to win more than you lose of course. Not every trade will be a winner.

Short term capital gains taxes really eat into your profits, and if you aren’t moving tens of thousands or more per transaction fees on each buy and sell really add up as well. You can’t even come out ahead by picking right a little more than half the time…you have to hit like 3/4 of the time. Either that or you have to be making some ridiculously risky bets.

Precisely. I don’t know why anyone would trade options.

It’s hard enough for most people to value stocks, and to have conviction in their investment when the price doesn’t move as expected because of market forces you can’t control. With options, one has to get not only the direction right, but the timing.

Then, as you say, the trading commissions are higher.

Also, as a retail investor, you are basically a price-taker and have to beat the spread. You are pretty much guaranteed to be overpaying for your options.

And.. You are going up against infinitely more agile and sophisticated machines that can front run your trades in microseconds.

This is why I say options have some use for hedging other investments, but not for trading on their own.

Investing is like a garden. You plant the seeds. You water, you prune, and you watch it grow.

Trading options is almost gambling… why even do it when the odds are stacked so much against you.

I'm going my own way. Maybe I'll see you there.
