According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
42,000 Americans died from opioid use in 2016. This is a serious health crisis in the USA. I used to be judgmental of people who used Oxycontin to get high, but not anymore—not since I read articles about the addictive nature of this opioid. I’m glad I wasn’t in a situation where I had intense pain and was prescribed this medication.

I feel that pharmaceutical companies are making huge profits from drugs that are not suitable for public consumption. The FDA should have better standards for approving pain-killing medications. There should be a way to make them as non-addictive as over-the-counter medications.

If people want to kill themselves with drugs I say bye bye let nature take its course.

It is not the normally sold “opioid” that is causing most of the overdoses, it is that these “opioids” are being mixed with fentanyl, a much more powerful drug. Think the difference between alcohol and nitrous oxide for car engine. Alcohol can cause the engine to stall, but nitrous oxide will literally blow out an engine.

There was a major spike with fentanyl spiked drugs being sold across the board after President Trump won the 2016 November election.

This might be another way to cause problems for the nation during President Trump’s watch.

Another bad thing is the availability of NARCAN. In the US it can be sold over the counter and most police, fire and ambulance personnel carry it. A lot of the users know that they can push the line and NARCAN is close by.
Besides the fentanyl, the opioids in the US are also being mixed with carfentanyl Carfentanyl is an elephant tranquilizer which is 100 times as potent as the same amount of fentanyl. 5,000 times as potent as a unit of heroin and 10,000 times as potent as a unit of morphine.

I’m sorry, but if people are so stupid that they become addicted to an opioid and don’t get help, that’s their f~~~ing problem. I’ve been on opioid pain medication several times over the years. I’m well aware of the dangers and I take appropriate steps to make sure I don’t become addicted. Then again, most people are so stupid they don’t even take all their antibiotics and end up making super bacteria. This is a MUCH more serious threat than opioids.

F~~~ing doctors won’t give me the opioids I need when I need them because a few stupid people become addicted. I’m sick and tired of this f~~~ing nanny ass government. I strongly believe that NOTHING should require a prescription and that everything should be available over the counter. Let the dumb f~~~s kill themselves. We won’t have the illegal immigrant problem anymore within a few years. Dumbasses dying and failing to reproduce is a GOOD thing! It’s 100% natural!

The main reason opioids are so addictive, is because addiction to them provides your life a meaning and purpose (of scoring more of them, but still a meaning)
