    This has just come up on UK news today;

    http://news.sky.com/story/1633640/uk-scientists-allowed-to-modify-human-embryos

So the UK government has given the go ahead to genetically alter human embryos for research into a female health issue. This will inevitably lead to human cloning which in a gynocentric society means men will become redundant.

the goal is an androgynous species. no males and no females. everything i see and read points to this as the final solution.

So cloning women is OK but a man wanting a child thru surrogacy is creepy? HHMMMM. sometimes I have to think that maybe we do need our own planet.
On the other side, it will never happen. They will be typical women and when there is no man to blame they will blame each other. Women don’t play on teams like men do.

Well, i think its a good concept, but i think that gynocentrism is going to f~~~ this up.

And, as usual women will turn the fault of there mistakes on men.

Shades of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, who explored this territory back before WW2.

For the record, I agree with Huxley that state controlled cloning is a nothing but a tool for oppression.

I believe the concept of cloning is an amazing feat in human creativity, but state controlled conception obviously has a lot of problems with it.
As with men becoming redundant, that is ludicrous, this world is built and maintained by men, if any gender were to become redundant with cloning or ecto-genesis it would be women, note im not advocating for “gender-cide” or any of the feminist nonsense.
I fully agree with barbarossa, and im paraphrasing here. “any technology that allows us greater control over our base biological drives is a good thing”.
I’m sick of all these fear mongers(not accusing anyone here) that keep screeching about banning the innervation of some of the most exciting and fundamentally game changing(in a good way) technologies, such artificial wombs, because of some women somewhere thinks it’ll reduce her value in the eyes of men or that somehow these technologies will harm the wimminz and chilluns.

    Sorry, I beg to differ.

For a start a cloned embryo would still require a female womb in which to gestate. Much work has been done to try to create an artificial womb, all have failed; but why bother when there is no shortage of the real thing. Thus women would retain their vital role within society, a role they have held since forever.

Secondly, if men became sexually redundant and the bio-technology existed to produce a new species of hominids who were stronger and more resilient than human males but with the IQ of a dog, how long do you think women would keep us around for?

To some woman, I think artificial wombs will be seen as competition, a relatively safer alternative to reproduce. And if the woman providing eggs can’t fight you for custody, and then child support, a potentially cheaper way perhaps, than customary reproduction. As far as strictly reproducing is concerned, it could and should devalue woman as a female, and bring them closer to the level that men are perceived to be at. Almost unnecessary and disposable. I don’t think it would be detrimental to them as sexual partners, but almost certainly as a life partner. They will be typical women and when there is no man to blame they will blame each other.

    Nope, they’ll still blame men.

I red a comic about this called Y the last man, where all the men died one day and they could only clone women. These women think that

“With cloning, men have become obsolete! Now they really are worthless!”

But the truth is, we all know it will be the other way around. Men are bigger, stronger, faster, smarter, ect. They only thing men can’t do is give birth, and now that we have that, what do women have? Nothing. We’ll have them beat on everything. Oh yes, one gender is obsolete, it’s women. And then with genetic modifications, we’ll be able to rid the world of genetic diseases, mental illness, cancer.

Turns out, men are better at creating human life too.

Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.

Very cool and very scary. Who will set the standards and guidelines? .The scientists will want to push the envelope as far as possible. .The government will try to regulate the technology, probably for super soldiers. .military uses will be like sci-fi..

If you’re interested in this story, see a movie called Gattaca. One of my favorites.
