Approximately 13% of long term marriages are “Satisfying”. Talk about an ambiguous term. In the context of marriage just what the f~~~ does it mean ?? I’m satisfied that she only maxes out one credit card at a time. I’m satisfied that she doesn’t cheat on me anymore (I think ??). I’m satisfied that she lets me have a “quicky” once every couple/few months or so ETC.ETC.ETC.

One would HOPE with ONLY 13% so called “successful long term marriages” they would be able to describe them in a lil stronger terms like maybe: loving, caring, emotionally supportive, nurturing, or whatever, but “satisfying” really infers just how crappy the “successful” marriages are.

A 13% chance of sheer fricken satisfactory mediocrity IF you do everything right and keep her happy with money and gifts constantly.

What’s the word I’m looking for here?

    Oh, yes, now I remember.

He still sticks to the 50% number for divorces. I guess he didn’t see the CDC survey that found 93% of marriages end in the first ten years. In my small circle of experience, 90% of the adults I know or are acquainted with are divorced. I know that’s not very scientific, but the 50% number sounds like the domino theory to me.

So many stats are out there, it’s difficult to keep up.

But thinking about The numbers in BMWs video is more terrifying in a manner than a 90% divorce rate. If the actual divorce rate is 50 %, 37 % are stuck but want out, they are in prison because they don’t want to hurt their children or get divorce raped, and 13 percent are just “satisfied.”

I am on the side that the divorce rate is much higher than 50 % probably close to 75 % but the government doesn’t want that stat out.

Notice there was no percentage of those in a long term marriage that were “Truly Happy”. I’m sure many are happy on their honeymoon night but often, that is when we start to realize the mistake we made.
