Don’t tell anyone else, don’t make big purchases or flaunt it, so that anyone who doesn’t like you (ie the ex or her friends/family) gets wind of this and decides to go back to court to try for a bigger slice.

While it sounds funny, that very prospect has me worried. Just look at the return and overhaul of common law marriage statutes, “palimony” laws being passed, and other similar acts.

I’ve three nephews, all over 18 and all still single. I’m increasingly worried about the increasing legal horrors they’ll face.
