Hear me, in a nosh!t combat situation, like an ambush in urban environment, you should be able to physically grab any man on your team who is dressed in full combat gear, and carry him 100 yards atleast, in rapid time! -not taking water break so sniper kills you both.
Its not just the military man, its like this in pretty much all physical jobs. I’m responsible at times for industrial fire fighting duties at my job. I’m 190 lbs and I’m not even the biggest guy there, plus when you are in your bunker gear with an air pack on that is about another 50 lbs worth of gear, plus you may need to make use of some other tools that add additional weight, and have to flake out hoses and be able to control a pressurized line. I’m pretty fit so 50 lbs of gear isn’t a huge burden to me, but we are trained that if we ever have to fight a fire for real we go in with a buddy, that way if something happens to me I have someone to drag my ass out, or can drag my buddy out if needed.
If my buddy is a 250lb guy plus gear, I’m plenty strong to drag him around, and I’m sure he could drag me no problem. If my partner is a 120lb female who can barely walk in full gear to begin with and I get hurt and go down, she won’t be able to drag me out, let alone if she’s partnered with someone bigger than me. Its also considerably harder to drag someone without gear who doesn’t have any convenient handles to drag them by, and there is a possibility we may have to go into a situation where people are down and we need to get them out.
Its just physics. 50lbs of s~~~ strapped to a 120 lb woman is like a 40% increase in body weight. 50lbs of s~~~ strapped to a 200lb guy is a 25% increase in body weight. If you added another 30-40lbs of s~~~ to me to compensate, I’m 100% positive I’d fatigue faster, move slower, and those factors may ultimately lead to me not being able to do what I need to as fast(which is pretty important when you are talking fires), and won’t be as effective at handling other tools I may need to use or dragging someone to safety. We can’t give them less gear or less responsibility because its just going to lead to them getting hurt or someone else getting hurt because of them(especially when we have limited bodies available), but at the same time, just like in the military, if standards are set that disqualify most women, its apparently sexist.
People will literally lose their lives because so many morons in society think equality is equal results when in reality all equality should amount to is equal opportunity.
