Most, upon seeing A boy and His Dog, will mentally masturbate to the parallels it has with the Fallout video game franchise. A few commenters recite “bros before hoes” as if they believed it. I know that little can be gleaned from it here apart from amusement, but I’m sharing in case any mangina lurkers out there are helpless to have reality conveyed to them apart from Sci-fi.

    Bros. Just bros.

    i couldn’t watch it cuz there’s a wedding ceremony at the end….
    movie could be renamed to
A boy and His Dog become enslaved.

MGTOW is not a movement, it is a way of life.

This movie was actually the inspiration for the Mad Max trilogy. I have the book by Harlan Ellison which I have not yet read, as well as a copy of the movie on VHS that I have watched a few times over the last decade or so.

I think Johnson (Vic) is separated from his dog (Blood) and the marriage at the end is FORCED by the post-apocalyptic underground quasi-religious loony society if I recall correctly, and in the end Don Johnson escapes and walks off into the sunset with his dog that can understand him and speak to him telepathically, so it would indeed be a very MGTOW movie.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Boy_and_His_Dog
“The novella ends with Vic remembering her question as Blood eats: “Do you know what love is?” and he concludes, “Sure I know. A boy loves his dog.””

If you can call being strapped to a gurney and mechanically spermjacked against your will in order to inseminate a slew of broads a wedding, you’re missing the mark.
    Barely.

Ha, I remember more now that you said that… Yea, he was lured away from his injured dog down into this underground loony bin by the girl to be spermjacked and forced into marriage.

There’s a reason this movie isn’t as popular as it should be.
    Compare it to Titanic’s ending

    I don't need a legacy.. I don't need a monument.

    Contrast it, rather

In one of his retrospective anthologies, N-Space I believe, Larry Niven wrote about his mother and her attempt to understand why he was writing science-fiction instead of getting a “real” job.

Niven’s family is wealthy and any number of sinecure-type jobs in banking, finance, and similar industries provided by the “old boys network” were waiting for him after he earned his “Gentleman’s C” at whatever school he attended. Instead, Niven f~~~ed around at CalTech before transferring to a minor midwestern college, getting a math degree, and decided to start writing science-fiction.

Having never read any sci-fi of any kind, Niven’s mother went to a book store to buy a novel. She was an internationally recognized breeder and shower of keeshonds, so, when she saw a book titled A Boy and his Dog, she bought it.

She never finished that book or attempted to read another sci-fi novel again.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

It was super low budget and done long ago. They would NOT remake it today, and if they did they would f~~~ it up. I am DEEP into dystopian/post apocalyptic movies, have a large and hard to find in some cases hard copy collection of all kinds of rare stuff, this is the only reason why I even knew about it.

Ha, that is funny story that I had never heard of Oldbill. I have read some Niven as well.

This is a quote from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Boy_and_His_Dog

“The 1975 science fiction film directed by L. Q. Jones was controversial for alleged misogyny”

I guess wanting to just bang the random hottie, avoid marriage at all costs, and be best friends with your telepathic dog was misconstrued as “Misogyny”.

I have alluded to this movie several times here. Love it, and liked the ending.

    i couldn’t watch it cuz there’s a wedding ceremony at the end….
    movie could be renamed to
A boy and His Dog become enslaved.

…well you should watch it, what you described as ending just isn’t. Wedding started the last, best act of the film.

The ending will definitely satisfy your taste.
