Wow. I feel conflicted about this.
On one hand, it is going to force people to start being more accountable and work.
On the other, I worry about the precedent it’s setting. Are we really going to start imprisoning people because they are unemployed? It seems to me like this is a major restriction on liberty. I’d be shocked if this bill passed. I’m sure it will get vetoed or overturned ASAP.
Here’s what I think should be done:
Monitor the mothers, but instead of imprisoning them (and thereby raising our taxes to support the new prisons and guards) and ruining their permanent record for future employers, cut off government aid. Stop spending on people who are abusing the welfare system, and return that money to the taxpayer in the form of a reduced income tax.
If people are healthy and still depend on government for unemployment money even though they can work, and they haven’t gotten a single job in six years, then make them forfeit their Social security and Medicare privileges as well.
But this whole idea of criminalizing unemployment..it’s ridiculous is what it is. We already have the highest rate of incarceration in the world. Let’s not turn this beautiful country into a police state.
It’s a hoax. You’ve clicked on a fake news article.

Anonymous3Yeah I figured it was a fake, didn’t even bother clicking.
We all know that the state would find the nearest man, order him to pay the mother, or incarcerate him instead. If that was the article I would have believed it.
This cannot be real. It violates the physical laws of gynocentricism.
I have discovered a truly remarkable list of reasons why women are not necessary for a happy life, but alas this margin is too small to contain it.
Wow I’m dumb. How did you guys know it was a fake article?

The fact a government would mandate women to work, rather than choose to. Not possible.
