Okay, so I posted on here a few days ago that I probably had kidney stones. I had a CT scan which was negative for kidney stones. So I was back to square one. I then started developing a rash from the most painful area. It turns out its Shingles. Now that I have the right medicine I am on the road to recovery. I am getting to the pus filled blistering stage now. The worst part was the muscle spasms. Left me bed ridden for a couple days.

So if you are 50 or older and had chicken pox, be sure to get your Shingles vaccination. You don’t want to have this disease.

Careful, that pus is the contagious part of shingles. You do not want you friends and family to get shingles.

I hope you get to feeling better.

Yes, no pictures. Especially since most of the pus filled sores are on my lower back and butt. Does not look good even without pus.

Had it myself twice—yes it can re-occur. Be careful about the nerve that is infected. Mine was close to my spine and they were afraid it might migrate—bad news.

Good news is that when I had it I was off work for two weeks and I binge watched all five years of Babylon 5 and all the movies. I enjoyed it because back then I wasn’t as red-pill as I should have been.

You don’t have to be 50 or over to get shingles. My grandfather got it in his 60’s, but once you’ve had chicken pox, it can surface at any time. I know a few people who got shingles in their 20’s and 30’s. I’ve already had chicken pox, so I’m on the lookout.

Shingles is a bit of a bitch to diagnose early. The vaccine is only 50% effective. I saw shingles in a 3year old girl that had varicella vaccination.

Hope that you get better soon and have no long term consequences.

Was in shingles quarantine at the age of 22 over Christmas, thought I had two small zits on my upper forehead and squeezed them. Not smart and kept me in the hospital away from family and friends over the holidays.

Shingles are truly not something to mess around with. Pay the deductible if there is any doubt, the alternative is much worse and could become chronic.
