Norway is serious about equality with new female draft

Well , Norwegians have implemented female draft, first NATO country that does so, so it’s reasonable to expect female draft legislation in US to be approved.

This year Norway, which already introduced the world’s first all-female Special Forces unit, became the first NATO country to draft women for military service. By the end of the year, 845 women born in 1997 will report for duty as drafted conscripts, joining a smaller number of female soldiers serving as professional soldiers in the Norwegian Armed Forces. Over 1,700 male Norwegians born in 1997 have also been drafted this year, according to figures provided by the Norwegian Armed Forces. The armed forces still draft the same total number of conscripts each year, but as of this year, some of the conscripts will be women. The armed forces’ only criterion is ability.

Indeed, Norway, which is governed by a female prime minister and a parliament consisting of 40 percent women, extended its mandatory military service not for feminist reasons but because it wanted the best and fittest soldiers. “Today’s average teenagers are less fit than they were a generation ago,” Per-Thomas Bøe, the armed forces’ project manager for the gender-neutral draft, told me earlier this year. “There are larger differences between young men who are fit and those who are not than between our enlisted men and women, because teenagers who exercise are very fit.”

From an economic standpoint , it is , indeed profitable for military-industrial complex. In case of a war, military has double amount of drafted soldiers, wich in turns means double ammount of gun , ammo , military vehicle , etc. production.

If you want to add a “conspiracy theory” layer. Both mom and dad marching into battle, will means, kids are left to the state to “educate” them, probably into some “progressive” ideals that would contribute to big goverment.

I have read women do actually have better aim because of their lower gravitational center , they do have a disadvantage though related to been able to holde heavier rifles.

There’s no way they’re going to draft women into combat units, and they damn well know it. Otherwise they wouldn’t even consider this empty gesture.

Sure women will be “subject to the draft”, and maybe even drafted, but they’ll be processed in and out of a revolving door installed in every entrance processing center just for them faster than you can say: “4F”.

At MOST they’ll be assigned to nice, safe rear echelon clerical support duties while men continue to be sent off to die. Why? Because despite all their protestations of “equality”, they really only want the perceived privileges of service. They don’t want the difficult or dangerous jobs that come with it, and commanders in the field really don’t want to deal with their incompetent, worthless asses anyways.

Which is why those bulls~~~ lip service measure about drafting women is not nearly f~~~ing good enough.

Well it’s about time! I don’t care which freedom-loving country you come from, if you’re going to enjoy the freedoms men and government have given you over the ages, you should be full willingly defend, protect and serve those same freedoms you take for granite. That includes women too.

Women don’t expect a man to spill blood and die for your freedoms unless you’re wiling to do it also. Just because men have upper body strength, doesn’t mean we have to be the only ones with a target on our chests. You want equality, learn to accept equality to what it really is, and that includes serving on active duty, paying your share at the restaurant, and paying for nice gifts at Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. Stop making men do and pay for your prices, and pay your own way. You want equality so badly, signing up for the draft is all part of it.

No, this ‘draft’ is meant to serve in the armed forces. Today a selection of men and women are drafted. But when I served back in the 90’s, it was expected that every male went through the service if he was capable. The option to not served in the armed forces was to transfer such people to instead serve in public services of non-military virtue. The ‘draft’ is considered what made boys into men, and this was the place to make connections for later in life. It was as much a social phenomenon as a military one.

Today Norway has a professional army, while back when I served it was every male under the sun. Those choosing to fight now are doing so voluntarily. The women will serve in what I’d think was the old system and revolved out when they find out it isn’t for them. The men, however, will be shipped out, because that’s their job. You’re right when you say they don’t want to have useless people serving them, of both genders. The fact that females will have entry is just a shift from one part of unemployment to another part. It doesn’t make much of a difference, even if they learn to fieldstrip a rifle.
