There is this thing called NoFap. We know what it means. To not masturbate for as long as possible.
There are actually people out there, who claim benefits of not wanking ever again and say how it affected their life positive.
    Now
Let’s discuss about what you think about the NoFap thing.

    Personally for me
I’ve been NoFap for 11 years and then discovered this amazing activity of self pleasuring. I enjoyed it so much, that I never want to go back again. Life couldn’t be better without it.
I see NoFap as a cult and it’s members, who claim benefits of not wanking and set them up as facts, which they firmly believe, these are cultists.
I don’t have a problem if someone decides to go NoFap, that’s fine. I do have a problem with those, who put them up like a religion and make their experience facts for everybody.
There is science and that’s what I love and follow. I love the feeling of releasing and relief and it makes my life easier. There’s evidence why it so: Endorphins. Enough said.

"We are free to follow our own path. There are those who will take that freedom from us, and too many of you gladly give it. But it is our ability to choose – whatever you think is true – that makes us human. There is no book or teacher to give you the answers, to show you the path. Choose your own way! Do not follow me, or anyone else."

I imagine once it’s backed up after while the body reacts and you maybe start putting muscle on, getting more aggressive, etc. Evolutionary response to lack of sex that serves to make you more appealing.

    Maybe.

Is there an actual religious component to this? Are a lot of the guys that do this fundiewhacks? “God wants me to save my body for marriage” etc types?

I know someone who told me about NOFAP and says it is rewarding.
More energy, more testosterone and a few more things…was a few month ago when we had this talk.
I said i cant imagine to be NOFAP for more than a few days. but Im going to try it probably, because sounds interesting… well i havent tried NOFAP so far, but Im still interested to see what the effects will be.
Im worried that i cant fall asleep for hours if i do NOFAP now, because its winter and i only sit on my chair infront of the monitor or on the couch watching tv, so i dont have enough exercise to fall asleep easily and i dont wanna lay in bed for hours, before i can sleep.
Most of the time when i rub on off is just to fall asleep faster.
I will wait for spring when i have enough exercise outside in my garden again and give it a shot.

    what? 😀

I think occasionally refraining from fapping TEMPORARILY is a good thing, just like people fast and temporarily refrain from eating. However that is not what the noFap guys on reedit are talking about It seems to me that many of them are under the illusion that noFap will make them better with women or that it will unlock the keys to supreme confidence and will be born a new man ready to tackle the world. My guess is that a lot of them just start with a porn addiction and fap excessively. Then when they stop, there bodies are no longer under the stress of purging their bodies multiple times everyday and now they have more time to focus on their goals since they are kicking their habit. If this is the case, no wonder noFap helps them. Nothing wrong with fapping, but addiction…… yeah that can be a problem.

o yea… i remember now my friend saying exactly that… and i answered that isnt one of my goals to become better with women, the opposite would be the case.
But more confidence and adrenaline would be something in order to become more productive.

I don’t think retaining one’s ssemen gives super powers. However, I do think pornography is bad for you. I agree with the assertion that it causes a flood of dopamine, and can rewire the brain and ruin real sex. I’ve experienced that. The unlimited nature of the internet makes porn 2.0 really bad. I’ve been a porn consumer for over 30 years. I’m trying to get away from it.

The most I’ve done is maybe three weeks of no fapping and at one point I was limiting my fapping to once a week in order to see if it would improve my performance in my strength training. Based on my experience, I had very little improvement in my performance, but I also noticed I required slightly less sleep and felt a little more energetic during the day. The few times I conversed with a woman (I just ignore them otherwise), they did seem to react slightly more intrigued, but the key word there is slightly. I stopped after three weeks because that was my plan, I would’ve had no problem extending it if I wanted to. Once I was past the first three days, the urge to fap wasn’t a problem.

Basically, I’m sure it will help you. I think it is a useful supplement when cultivating confidence and creating positive self-change, but it is not the cure a lot of the noFap guys will claim it is. Good luck with it, and I hope it helps you with your goals.

There could be some truth to the benefits, but it smacks of pseudo science, almost like a placebo effect. For me, the NOFAP thing seems like some weird s~~~, like those old school people who thought it made you go blind or grow hair on your palms. Just some weirdo s~~~ that has no place in my life. For me, there’s nothing special about a fap, there’s nothing spiritual or anything. It’s a bodily function, like the need to eat or p~~~. I can sit there and tell you that fasting for a month has great benefits, but that makes me sound like a nut. If I want to, I will. if not, no.

For men, there is a proven corollary between mental and physical health and the orgasm.

Men that are frequently sexually active (by what ever means) have a lower instance of prostatitis and prostate cancer.

The male orgasm releases endorphins – the feel good neurotransmitter.

I’m not buying the idea that NoFap benefits a male. Orgasms are as natural as breathing in and out. We are wired both biologically and psychologically to have sexual release. Not sure how denying this basic male function is beneficial for a male.

If some guy wants to NoFap, all the power to him, but I won’t be doing it. From my perspective, there are many benefits to sexual release.

Not so sure about this. I’m no scientist, but it makes sense to me that your body will produce more testosterone if you are sexually active or masturbate regularly.

My train of thought on this: use it or lose it. If you don’t have any sexual release for a long time, your body will adjust and produce less testosterone.

I find erections and orgasms more “explosive” if I let it build up for a few days, but I think the law of diminishing returns applies if you go too long.

I have read about this, and I think there may be some benefits. Firstly, if you neuter a pet it lives longer. I think I have heard the same about eunuchs (men who were castrated). I am pretty sure your body looses vitamins, minerals and proteins when you bust a nut, so I would guess that doing it to much, in the long run, may have a downside. I know when I was young I could paint entire rooms in off white with my full auto, unlimited clip cheat code powers. Now, in my 40’s I do notice if I do it too often (which is way less than in my youth) I do feel run down a bit at times. I have no answers to this other than the middle path is likely the wisest in the long run, but really, I have no idea. I personally have not been able to hold out for more than 10 days or so, and that was tough, though I have never really tried the no fap thing, I am sure it would be really tough to hold out for 30 days or more, maybe when I am in my 80’s I will give it a shot…

I feel better when releasing. Sexual need is a part of my life.

I think it’s just the same with cutting out on food to get a better body shape. Works the same way.

There’s no single solution, that works for absolutely everybody, keep that in mind. And those, who do believe so aren’t educated.
