An Apollo man says he’s been ripped off in what investigators describe as a sophisticated “mail order bride” scheme. So he decided to reach out to Get Marty for help.
“I need some help. I made a huge mistake,” says 69-year-old Jerry Mentzel.
Jerry’s story is awful.
His wife of 43 years died from cancer. Jerry was lonely. He found a 24-year-old bride on an Internet site and married her.
“I’m mad at myself. I look in the mirror and say, ‘Why did you do this?” he says.
Jerry brought the 24-year-old Moroccan woman to the Pittsburgh area last year. Before she would agree to the marriage, he was asked to pay $32,000 to her “brother-in-law” in London.
The marriage lasted less than two weeks. Jerry signed off on divorce papers that ordered him to pay his wife alimony
.
“I thought she wanted a better life. She wanted a green card,” says Jerry.
According to the FBI, their Internet Crime Complaint Center receives nearly 6,000 complaints for victims of “romance scams” each year. The FBI reports citizens lose more than $50 million.
“The average victim can be taken for $70,000,” says Dave Abbate with Homeland Security.
Homeland Security officials cannot provide details, but promise they are taking a look at the Mentzel case. In general terms, Homeland Security agents will look into possible fraud charges.
Meanwhile, Jerry is embarrassed.
“I learned my lesson. It’s a tough lesson to learn at 69-years-old,” he says.
There should be a “Lemon law” giving a guy some protection from wives and girlfriends.
If a car has been brought to service center three or four times for same defect within the Warranty and the defect has not adequately been fixed, the car usually qualifies as a Lemon.
Anonymous18Jerry liked tight snatch.
Jerry thought he got tight snatch.
But tight snatch got Jerry instead.
Jerry got caught playing the dirty game.
F~~~ Jerry (his dead wife agrees).
Jerry is a lesson for us all. Spend all that money on brothels instead of brides. It will be cheaper in the long run, and there will be no heartbreak.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
Any man marrying past his 60’s has got to be out of his mind, just plain nuts, senile.
We got guys running for their lives to get away from the Marriage Police and this Jerry orders his misery online and marries it! Jerry wouldn’t have made that insane mistake had he surfed mgtow.com. Jerry would still have all his money had he gone his own way. Jerry is a Blue Pill victim. Now Jerry gets his Red Pill every time he pays Alimony.
Don’t be a Jerry, take your Red Pills.Don't let them Blame, Shame or Tame you!
Give 'em NOTHING, not even an answer!
#GenderSegragationNow!i thought within 6 months you can get an annulment.
I bathe in the tears of single moms.
The guy is a f~~~ing idiot and I have no sympathy for him. Blue pill all the way. $100,000 is a cheap price to pay for his idiocy. He even continued to pay her alimony. Who is the bigger t~~~ here?
Don’t be a Jerry, take your Red Pills. .…..THANK YOU UNTAMED !!!
The $32,000 is his own damn fault. The alimony is too, but that’s with an alley oop from the government to help the woman steal more.
Some men have this opinion that mail order bridges want a better life. That is partly true. Just not the part that they want to make you happy.
