    All done!

I opted for the local anesthetic and can highly recommend it. The whole procedure took about 20mins, during which the only uncomfortable parts were the 2 sharp needle pricks and the minor incision on both sides of the scrotum.

During the procedure the doctor actually showed me a section of the right vas deferens he had removed with too! (Picture a small noodle looking thing about 1cm long!)

Honestly, if it’s the pain / discomfort / anxiety you’re concerned about please be reassured that it’s very minor during the procedure.

I’m 2hrs post-op and with the exception of minor pain down below (which I would rate as a dull 1/10) I’m feeling fine.

You can opt for the general anesthetic if it’s your preference, but honestly take it from someone who’s just been through the procedure, you don’t need it. You hardly even feel what the doctor’s doing and before you know it, it’s all over!

The minor amount of pain having a vasectomy is a good trade off for the epic amount of pain in having the alternative (wife / womb turds / no cash!!!).

I’d be interested in hearing from people who might have had the surgery or contemplating it, and I’m happy to take questions about what to expect.

cool beans man. Nothing is more encouraging to men than seeing someone else walk out of what they are going towards saying it’s a piece of cake. Just remember: Keep it a secret until the court case.

……….then make sure to record the looks on their faces when they realize that they’re screwed.

During the needle injections and the following incision, would you describe it as sharp momentary pain?

I would also like to know if there were any objections from your doctor. Not sure what age you are, but I heard that many doctors refuse to provide vasectomies (and even tie the tubes) of young people on ethical grounds, especially when the birth rate is already going down the toilet.

I am personally 21 and have been considering it more with each passing day. Naturally the few people i told just jumped and went “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”, upon which I informed them that this isn’t a discussion, this is just me stating my decision. But i am more concerned by the trouble of finding a doctor of doing the procedure.

I had the big snip over 20 years ago and it was easy. I’ve heard more pain at the dentist’s. And it was great for me – two GFs nagged me to have a child and the answer was ‘sorry, no can do’ – no danger of weakening after a few drinks and saying what the hell.

Hi Yuri, thanks for your queries.

To answer your first question about the injections and incision you have described it perfectly. It’s a sharp 2-3 second needle prick into the scrotum and that is all. After this you don’t feel any further pain at all.

The incision isobviously made after the local anesthetic and the post-op pain I would describe as minimal. 1/10 at worst.

I’m now 8hrs post-op and the only sensation around the frank & beans is the feeling of the bandage over the incision wound. That’s it.

I also drove myself home afterwards which is the big benefit of having a local anesthetic.

My doctor also did not object to the procedure. He didn’t ask my family situation as I’ve heard some doctors do. Ultimately, in your case, it may be necessary to source a competent and professional doctor who is happy to do the procedure regardless of your personal situation.

A good gauge of whether I’ve made the right decision is my complete lack of trepidation going into the procedure and even during it. The doctor and assisting nurses were honestly amazed at my heart rate and blood pressure throughout, saying it hardly sped up. Even during the injection / incision!

8hrs afterwards and I’m so relieved to have finally done it! It’s something I should’ve done years ago, but better late than never.

Having had my vasectomy in 1989 I can assure you that they are well worth it whatever little amount of pain and discomfort you have to go through now is really worth the effort. Imagine the baby momma’s face when you say I can’t make you pregnant

Always expect the unexpected and gird your loins appropriately. It's a no-fault jungle out there.

Thank you for the response good man.

I have informed myself a bit further when it comes to the details, especially in my country.

Yeah, that. For anyone reading: the situation might change on your country of residence, i read a few stories where people had to travel some distance to find a doctor to get the procedure done.

For myself I found out the details that I can have it done as long as I find a surgeon to do it and pay for it. From the information I gathered it’s reccomend that before you choose your willing doctor (speaking mostly in the context of my country here but applies im sure to anyone) is to look up people that had previous experience with him. Certain peeps seem to screw the procedure up, something the men find out only after they get a positive DNA test.

The whole age barrier: people below the age of 30 might have difficulty finding a doctor, or better said, even getting trough to one as often nurses seem to just turn back anyone below a certain age thinking they have the authority to decide for others. Expect a bit of a battle at times, but what i would do is, find one that obviously is skilled but is only in it for the money. None of them will say no to a simple 300 shekels for 8 minutes of operating.

@yuri: Your are very welcome brother! I wish you well with your research into finding a suitable doctor to perform the procedure. Another factor which prompted me in having the snip was the fact that as a man you still produce sperm, however it just doesn’t travel to the testicles but instead it’s absorbed naturally into the blood stream. So the body isn’t effected at all, the ‘tubes’ still work and nothing is disrupted.

@jan: Boisdevie is correct, sperm typically makes up about 7% of the seminal fluid in your ejaculate and I’m pretty sure you won’t notice that you’re only shooting 93% of your previous capacity! It has the same consistency, look etc etc. Also you perform the same and it does not effect your sex drive.

I actually think I will be harder and maintain an erection for longer because of the piece of mind! I’ll know that for the rest of my days when I’m with a woman I can’t impregnate her!!!

I’m almost 24hrs post-op and I’m feeling great about my decision. I would still rate the pain as a 1/10 and a dull ache beside each testicle, but it’s minimal.

To quote the feminazi’s “My body. My choice”. (Argh, I feel like an idiot just plagiarising that term and being sarcastic!!!).

Good for you man! I wish i learned how to do that s~~~ back when i was a young gun!

But i am more concerned by the trouble of finding a doctor of doing the procedure.

The childfree subreddit may be able to help; they have a bunch of members from all over the world that have run in to the same challenge:

FYI: Mine cost me $1,000 here in New York City. Expensive, b/c medical costs are ridiculous in this country. But it’s still the best $1,000 i ever spent & i’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Best of luck to you brother

No change from before – volume, color etc. Everything works exactly the same as pre-surgery.

My doc told me to stay out of the bedroom for a week, but i felt good enough after 3 days that i took a chick for a test drive. Good time + peace of mind is tough to beat!
