I think the whole notion of not considering someone an adult man until he involves himself with a woman stems from ancient rituals of rite of passage.

A boy needs to made vulnerable, tested, and overcome the dangers successfully in order to be considered an adult man.

Because we don’t have rites of passage anymore in the modern society – relationship with a woman became a rite of passage of sorts. You have to make yourself vulnerable to a woman and survive it.
Which kinda makes sense, because it became so dangerous – it now qualifies as a rite of passage.

I don’t agree this is necessary. You’re better off opting out to a different rite of passage – say kill a lion with bow and arrow, jump from a tree with a vine rope tied to your ankles, fight an MMA fighter, spend a night in a den full of cobras, survive alone in the jungle for a week, or any other commonly accepted tribal rites of passage.

I unplugged too, it’s surprisingly easy, in some ways it’s even more desiderable than having a woman: it isn’t something like “a sacrifice”, it’s a different and slightly better situation with some cons but some more pros.

Women do need men. It’s men that don’t need women.

Do you usually tell everyone around you that you don’t need something, unprompted? The only times I see it is when people are just really insecure and know they need something, and are in denial. “Money doesn’t buy you happiness, I don’t need money!” “Being fat is fine, I don’t need to be in shape!” “I don’t need a nice car!” and the list goes on and on.

The State at some level forces men to care for women, so at some level they ameliorate some of that need. But it’s still a need, hence why unmarried women as they get older become cat ladies. Women have a need for male companionship. The irony is that they deny it when they’re younger and screw themselves up. Nothing is worse for a female than to destroy her pair bonding mechanism and not have children at all. We don’t even need to do anything as MGTOW, feminism kills off its own.

Younger women are seeing that and they will be the ones to kill off feminism out of their own self-preservation: they won’t want to end up as cat ladies.

Male value was too high to risk on a dumb dangerous activity in the past.

If young men died, all of society died. There was no electricity, no supermarkets, birth rates were not high and infant mortality was high as well. It was very difficult to have a young boy and have him reach maturity.

The last thing any society would do is then take said boy and risk his death or permanent injury to fulfill such a ridiculous idea of “being a man”. Also, there was no tribal council or school board or government that stood around and had the right over the males in general—-a father had full rights over his son. Actually both parents preferred sons and the mother herself was interested in the boy’s health, because the sons would take care of their aged parents and provide for them. It wasn’t that you’d go to work and get paid more the older you got—you were responsible for your own survival and that was typically on the family farm or trade, or as part of the hunt usually with a master. Masters also had concern for their male servants, because that was again your power source. More men=more power.

The idea of ancient rites of passage is just more feminist nonsense to convince men they are disposable and worthless, and must “prove” to women as a whole that they have value.

I do not put any stock in that. As of my studies, I have never found a good source for these “rites of passage”. Everything I’ve read points to the opposite. Men DID leave to find their own fortunes, and to be pioneers and such, but that was not for society, and usually said men would not even return to the place they had to leave in the first place. They’d settle somewhere else, so the society that pushed them out would lose out.

It’s hard to find writings from primitive tribes because they don’t know how to write or do much of anything. You have to use conjecture usually from observations that might not be the best. But again, I always do read what I can, so if you have some stuff to link I’ll read it.

I can’t imagine many primitive tribes around the world today or even in the past couple of hundred years though.
