Hey y’all. I think I’ve got the right section for introductions so I’ll introduce myself.
I’m not new to this concept of “men going their own way” but I didn’t know it was a thing, like a thing thing. I’ve dated a lot, been with a lot of women. But it came with a lot of abuse. Emotional, verbal, even sometimes physical, hell even financial. A lot of neglect. The epiphany for me came when I was in college in 2005 when I sat down to watch a Cubs game. I had some pizza and some cherry coke and I loved it. I had a lot of fun. And I thought I really enjoy this, I’m happy, I’m much happier than when I’m dating someone, Dating women is not fun, it has never been fun, I have never enjoyed it, I want to be happy, is it okay to want to be happy? I still remember that day.
It sounds stupid doesn’t it? So I thought that I should just not date anyone. But of course you have to, because you have to, everyone expects that. So I had some last ditch efforts including an engagement but my ex-fiancee was extremely neglectful (I’m just wasn’t surprised at that point) so I cut that off and haven’t dated or put any effort into it since 2008.
It’s difficult. It really is. Deciding to be happy for you, and to pursue the things in life that make you happy. Especially when they’re outside the cultural norms. And I would consider married with children to be the norm.
So I did/do my own thing. Everyone asks “aren’t you lonely”, and other things. But the last 7 years have been my best, aside from 2013 where I said one wrong thing to a woman and she took my career away. I was able to get it back a year later but what a lesson. Women in the workplace scare the crap out of me.
Anyway I just heard of this and I guess other men do this too. Which I think is great. We only have so many years, they should all be the best we ever had. I was kind of hoping that there would be a “no girls allowed” club or something close to that where like minded men get together to fish, hunt, play video games, work on cars, or share in skills they obtained. Help us all advance each other. In a way that the current social constructs never could. I think that would be great.
Welcome! I’m glad you made it! I’m even more glad one of those land sharks didn’t get her teeth into you!
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
Anonymous42Ahoy tharr mate, welcome aboard, have some grog and harpoon some truth! let’s boil down the blubber of feminism to fill our lamps of enlightenment!
