That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve heard, but not at all surprised since people don’t seem to understand ED at all. First of all, I have ED, had it for decades now. I know what I’m talking about.
People seem to think that have ED means you don’t get horny without the pill. Entirely untrue. What it means that you don’t get enough blood flow to cause an erection, or you require more stimulus to trigger more of an erection. In both cases, pills like Viagra will ‘thicken’ the blood so that the blood flow will give you that erection, and require less stimulus to get an erection. It’s common for men who have hypertension and take blood thinners (me) to require Viagra to counteract the effect. Also why older men tend to need it since their blood doesn’t flow as well. The pills do not make you horny. You won’t get an erection without stimulus, and you’re very unlikely to get an erection that won’t go away. Viagra will take effect in around 20 minutes, longer if not on an empty stomach. It’s good for at least 4 hours, but I usually was going for the next morning as well. If I was having a particularly busy weekend, a pill Friday night, another Saturday afternoon, would usually get me through the whole weekend.
It’s not at all difficult to get Viagra. Any Dr will give you a prescription if you ask for it. It’s not as if they want to bother testing for the symptoms of ED.
There may be some guys who are embarrassed, but if so it’s out of ignorance. When dating it’s not an issue at all. I’d just pop a pill when it was pretty clear sex was going to be happening that night, usually with the date being unaware, and never had a bad reaction if I told her I used the pill. When I was married it was a little more difficult, as my ex seemed to think that 20 minutes notice was a big burden.
Overall, it’s pretty much nothing. I suppose some guys may see it as an embarrassing, and I certainly wouldn’t advertise it to a bunch of immature men, but the reality is that has never been something that made me want to avoid dating or relationship. Women did that.

I used online dating (POF and Tinder) for nine months and I have heard more stories than I ever thought possible.

I had to go to AA for a driving issue.I found that my trouble stemmed from my drug of choice Crazy women that f~~~ed me. It’s unusual for someone who drank like I did daily, to suddenly quit for over 6 years now and continuing. THAT is how suddenly I hit bottom.

I understand that there are many that should not drink every family has some one that should never drink. I went to sea and sailors ,painters and a few others There are some great people in the program. Chasing women and the party lifestyle was my drug of choice. Some people think God got them sober. Other people swear by 12 Step Work, Prayer and helping others. I know better, none of that is what keeps people sober. What gets people sober is the sudden pain and suffering of a true bottom. What keeps them sober is fear of that pain coming back again. You can train a dog to salivate at the sound of a bell, likewise, you can teach a drunk to stay sober only when you hurt him bad enough and he never wants to be hurt like that again.
Thats just my opinion. How do you conquer substance abuse, USE MORE. Use unrestrained and to the hilt. Use until you really do die or get sober. It works. They say “surrender” …. that’s what I did. I surrendered to drinking. It won. I turned up alive one day sober after that. I will never go back. Sort of like making a teenager smoke a whole pack of cigarettes.
