Did you see the first Hunger Games? What a joke. She has absolutely ZERO agency, makes no kills — or decisions — throughout the whole movie , she rescues nobody, and her ass is saved by a chance announcement at the end.

Had more respect for Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley in Aliens. At least she pretended to be like a man. They even compared her to a female Rambo. Jennifer Lawrence was like “Whaaaaat? They do that because they know that they probably won’t gain the popularity of an already existing work (since no one wants what they are trying to shovel) and or don’t want to put the effort in to get it to that point. So instead they hijack something that already exists.

Yeah, it’s all a bunch of s~~~ now. I don’t watch movies anymore except a few old ones. No TV shows either except some stand-up comedy or certain cartoons. I am too tired of seeing nutless f~~~tard men and uber-powerful 100 lb. women who destroy trained killers with one mighty kick. Never a mention of how women’s facial bones and ribs collapse when big, strong men hit them, and how their little fists don’t do enough damage to even slow the slaughter. That’s why men aren’t supposed to hit women. It tends to crack their skulls and kill them.
Not that I would watch if they showed realistic outcomes, as I have no desire to see women injured.
When you add that crap to the endless parade of stereotypes… the tough, wisecracking fat black women, the endlessly drunk middle-age whores, the hyper smart little girls and fat, slow little boys. How many cop shows have a strong feminist lady cop with a whining bitch of a husband who wants her to put his emotional needs above her career? I can think of two right away, but I get my TV via DVDs and precious little at that.

Edit: I’m thinking of The Blacklist and Longmire. I happen to like them both in spite of the husband-wife role reversals their writers throw in. They are on different networks, so maybe the writer’s union has an unspoken rule: Make the man a pussy if you want to keep your overpaid jobs.

You talk about TV that tries to highlight women being heroes. I am almost finished watching this really predictable SyFy show called Dark Matter. This is another show that had the wifflebat of feminism taken to it. Almost every time they try to showcase the females as heroes in the show, they pretty much have to tie up or somehow incapacitate all the male characters on the show.

Though the show does have a couple of very strong male voices. My favorite being 4(I won’t tell his real name in case you watch the show.) He is basically a Japanese samurai who follows something similar to the Bushido Code. Sadly, these characters aren’t allowed to shine unless its an episode devoted to them. If its a full cast story, its usually the guys needing to be saved in some way(and usually through situations mostly out of their control).

I might do a more indepth analysis of the show, episode by episode. This show just has so many good points to make about the various characters.

Like many others have said its difficult to find good male role models on TV anymore.

I once had an opportunity to speak to a writer for Xena the Warrior Princess. I pointed out that Hercules was a morality story that helped boys to become ethical and heroic men.

She just looked at me. I’m now sure that she was thinking I was a troglodyte and exactly the reason for Xena.

Well, Hercules is still a heroic epic and Xena is just a bad memory. The only steady fans she had were feminist lesbians. I knew one that had a life size Xena poster in her house.
