Reading your comments I feel that it would be necessary to supplement my post with some details about politics. The circumstances are such that Russia and USA nowadays are in phase of sharpened opposition. And it is understandable to think that the nuclear war is not far off. There is also an opinion that the foreign-policy ambitions of the Russian President are very warlike. But it is not true and may be regarded as a result of propaganda. We, the citizens of Russia, do not want to stay in confrontation with other states or nations but want to live in harmony with the rest of the world. Also we cannot permit when the lawlessness happens. Take Syria as an example. The population of the small country which is situated in Western Asia is suffering from terrorism. Some of these armed band groups are supported by the US government with primary aim to change the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. It is absolutely impossible when one country acts from the position of strength. In such situation Russia cannot stand aside. Using military aviation Russia helps to Syrian citizens retain the territorial and state integrity in Syria. In other words we fight against international terrorism.
Note, that our military doctrine is completely defensive but not offensive. Just because of this we reform and upgrade our military force. We need it in order to defend our country. There is a saying “if you look like food you will be eaten” which in full measure reflects our approach to the armed forces.
    Thank you for your attention!

As a side note, did you know that a group of baboons is called a congress. Explains a lot, doesn’t it?
