Long story short, these two professors wrote a complete BS article about ‘penises are a social construct and cause global warming’ or something like that(for some reason the link to the original paper didn’t work on my computer) and the university the worked for ACTUALLY published it as though they thought they were serious. Anyone with an iota of common sense and/or two brain cells to rub together would have seen SOMETHING wrong with this, but we all know that most of the professors and those in charge of these so-called institutions for higher learning aren’t exactly the brightest knives in the crayon box.

EDIT: Raging Golden Eagle added another link that works. Try this: http://www.skeptic.com/downloads/conceptual-penis/23311886.2017.1330439.pdf

80% of degrees are the result of a form of adult day care.

Paid for by the adult’s parents, the state via tax dollars and loans that never get paid back.

A college degree is an example of a good that is highly risky and highly situational at the same time.

Certain things instead of going to college to learn could have been learned all online for free then start an independent business or enterprise to make money using those skills.

A highly enterprising person will be able to make money with or without one.

But if one wanted to be a doctor the laws are set in such a way that one is required. The smart ones go to a country that has cheap degrees that reciprocate the licensing requirements with the US. SO go to a cheap med school overseas and come back to the US to work.

That being said worthless degrees should be avoided at all costs IF the person wants to be able to make money. If the person doesnt give a f~~~ about making money with the degree but just wants one to feel better about themselves well its their money or not.

This site was sold by its original owner in secret. There is new management that doesn't care about quality. The new site is much better https://theindependentman.org

University is the biggest scam in history. It is a money powerhouse, leaving students in debt and with the illusion that they “know” something.

A tranquil mind is neither happy nor sad, it is uninfluenced by external conditions.

As a cisgender male, living in the dawn of a postmodern feminist/post-patriarchal society, I find this parody article to be intellectually stimulating.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

Not just universities but schools in general. One of my worse school in my life was my boys only high school with underpaid angry teachers who hated their jobs, didn’t know how to teach, didn’t wan to teach. As a result we started doing measurements with oscilloscope without understanding wtf a scope is or started learning integer calculus without even knowing what freaking use does this have in real life.

Career wise in IT absolutely f~~~ing none. If you want to become a scientist or become an electronic engineer it does.

Today it’s all so easy, you can just go on youtube and watch millions of hours of stuff and DIY.

I remember we went to open day of the 2nd best and hardest university of my old country were instead of them encouraging students to go there, some ugly ex-commie teacher was preaching about: “HERE YOU HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO LEARN” this university is so hard that only 10% of those who start will graduate and better if you ice your dicks if you ever want to finish here blahblah. I felt sick in my stomach.

10 years later living far away from that s~~~hole country I laugh and pity all those going there to university. If I would have kids which will not happen I would teach them on my own or pay for private teacher whatever it cost, I would not let them nearby any brainwashing institution of any countries.

I went to a University and learned SOME about the industry that I got into, but I learned ALOT about the following: Marxism, feminism, police brutality (not kidding), patriarchy, toxic masculinity, toxic capitalism, and how white men have basically f~~~ed everyone out of everything on an ongoing basis since the dawn of time and that the government needs to correct all but the first two things that I’ve listed. I’m not kidding about this in the least bit.

I never saw much a purpose. You spend years, racking up debts that are very hard to pay back, and for jobs that may or more likely not available to you. Then there’s the snowflake aspect where these 20 year olds need cry rooms, safe spaces, puppies, hot chocolate because they’re a bunch of softies who can’t handle even an election result.

Sorry kiddies, you’re not going to get your dream job, and no matter what job you end up getting, don’t expect there to be any safe zones or feelings for you; doesn’t work that way in the real world.

I went when university was affordable. I paid for mine working part time and still had money left over to party. I graduated with zero debt.

It was quite different from the modern era in every way.

Haha, that hoax paper is awesome. Actually, it reads like a typical university paper so I’m not surprised that the “peer review” couldn’t tell the difference. All you have to do is randomly throw around technical jargon in an incoherent manner and it’s university quality material. I went to school for STEM. The first thing I learned is that I’m living in a full blown communist country and the universities are the ones making sure you get indoctrinated. Even the science and engineering classes had been massively dumbed down. I have always been interested in history so I would read old engineering and mathematics books from 1800’s and even earlier. There is no comparison to the dumbed down “repeat after me” classes that I was forced to sit through.

Don’t go unless you’re looking to be a doctor, engineer or entering the stem field.
Trade school is your best bet if you’re looking to get you license/certifications in welding, plumbing, IT, personal trainer, etc.

I have mixed feelings on this topic. Upper education is a sign of a thriving, dynamic society. I don’t regret getting my education, but the universities have turned into simply for profit institutions over the last 15-20years. My STEM/Economics undergrad is useless on its own; it was a spring board to go into medicine. Like dealing with any corporation, let the buyer beware applies.

Unless you are in a field that directly leads to employment – Doctor, lawyer, dentist, engineer etc. I would steer away from universities. I lived at home when in school, and got most of my undergrad tuition on a scholarship. Part time work and I graduated with little to no debt. I am the rare exception.

I would highly recommend certified trades – electrican, plumber in particular. Yet, this is a young man’s profession. Slugging pipe and crawling in confined spaces is a job for <45. If you invest smartly, don’t get married or have kids, 25-45 gives you 20 years of savings and growth to phase out. That nest egg by 65 should allow you to totally retire in comfort.

While I love knowledge, degrees in history, archaeology, etc will not put food on the table. I watch university lectures for free on YouTube and obtain the same knowledge as enrolling in a program without the debt.

I would like to see changes to the education system where one can challenge a battery of tests and be award a degree (not a professional designation), on knowledge demonstrated without enrolling in an $$$$ program. This is unlikely to happen as it is a business.

    - Marriage is described as an institution. You would have to be crazy to be commited to it. -"If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal. Not people or things" Albert Einstein

Higher education was never really meant for a job. It was something aristocrats/nobles did to be better than the commoners, and also to generally meet their life partners before going back home to work in the family business.

Higher education has since then been sold as job training, which is ridiculous, because an apprenticeship program does job training, and there really aren’t any more jobs that would require this further education than there were before (maybe 20% at most, whereas now 50%+ of the population goes to college).

I am highly educated and worked one of those prestigious jobs, I still do sometimes just not full time anymore. But to be reliant on income from a wage is a poor way to live, it’s really not reliable. For men, it’s probably best to avoid large cities (where most of the higher paying higher education jobs are located, but cost of living is insane and these jobs tend to be given preferentially to women anyway) and instead live in a low cost area and work a physical job that pays well, save up, and try to get passive income going, ideally from securities (stocks, bonds, REITs). The other choice is military, it’s a bit risky but for the unconnected, if you start early especially, if you do your 20 years and get out you have a pension by 38-39 and then can do whatever else. The risk though is you might not make 20 years, because it’s up or out.

Feminists love it that they have created such a hostile learning environment for young men that less than 40% of college graduates are male.

The new world involves controlling robots, I know it’s unpopular here but I believe you need a college degree for the new economy.

Women want men in manual labor. That’s all they think men are good for. Women want all the top jobs for themselves but don’t want to study STEM and work for it. Instead they study babysitting, I mean become teachers, or become professional parasites in the feminist indoctrination camps that the humanties have become.

My son is 20 and going for STEM. He’s interested in Engineering. You know, trendy stuff like eco-friendly self sustaining systems.

I thank god for college for my son as it is providing advanced problem solving skills and a structured learning environment.

When your done with college you should be able to size up complex problem in your field learn the new material on your own and apply it in real life situations without help.

For example, my research was in artificial intelligence applications in the medicine. I had to learn to program in C++, Jave, C#, and use SQL server. I had to learn it from text books on my own in between treating patients.

The way I learned it was as I was taught to learn in college. I always thought that was the point of college.

I’m a physician I love helping people but know where the money is.

I wanted to be a research scientist but was well advised to take a medical degree and then do research.

    Best move I ever made.

I grabbed this link off Elam’s site. I thought it really covered the current state of higher education. And the comments are entertaining.

(never been on that site, so no clue on its validity)

Nope I don’t believe India ever been under communist occupation which destroyed the country so I’m not from India. Surprisingly I meet some exchange students who were happy to go back there.

I believe those who can do do those who cannot, teach therefore all teachers are losers.

While I been freelancing in the past I outsourced from India part of my coding jobs to get it done faster and you can be sure I did not give a damn about anybody’s background, education, work experience. I only cared about 1 thing: can you do the task or not?

Females usually say yeah I have this and that degree and I’m a hard worker, enthusiastic, see my references blah f~~~ing blah blah but they cannot do what you want. All they want is scoring a big fat paycheck for an even bigger and fatter *nothing*.*nothing*.

I have helped girls with completing their IT studies multiple times over the years, sometimes for nothing sometimes for money. They have no clue about the whole thing. So why do they need the degree? Because of a higher pay grade.

Either way once you find your way in life all it will matter is experience on your area. I could put blahfckingmuhwuhdohdoh Univerity of California BSc MSC DR BONE on my resume nobody cares anymore because I have the many years of experience behind me and also I tell you another thing when you have the money it’s not them who tell you what will you earn but you tell them and if they don’t like it then you say f~~~off and go with the next company.
For example I had an interview with Deloitte a big consulting firm (I spent about 10 minutes reading about what this company is before the interview), I told them on the first interview that the personal will be after 6pm or before 9am on a given work day, they said it’s not possible due to business hours then how about go f~~~ yourself I find other companies where it is, I’m surely won’t waste a holiday on this one.

Of course you will only be able to do this if you have the money which will not happen if a leech is sucking your bank account dry.
