What are your experiences dealing with a narcissistic mother?

In certain instances, mothers treat their sons like their boyfriends/husbands. Sometimes when these mothers are called out on their narcissism, they play professional victims.

Technically, all mothers are narcissistic in some way or another. My mom being one of the worst narcissistic c~~~s ever. I still show her basic respect because she’s my parent, but I don’t let her walk all over me like I’m some kind of doormat.

Single mothers however, are on an entirely different ballpark altogether in being narcissistic.

My mom just hated men. All the boys were treated like s~~~ while all the girls were pampered. Best way to deal with them is to get the f~~~ out. Let them drown in their own narcissism while you’re off living your own life.

My mother is histrionic, part of the cluster b from DSM 5 I believe, of which narcissistic is also part of. I love her but she is seriously f~~~ed up and I must maintain very firm boundaries around her.

lol all i can do is try to stay away from mine. She always gave priority to my sister over me. So the way i look at it is now it’s time to give neither her or my sister any priority in my life at all.

Maybe keeping away from them other than the occasional meetup for lunch or whatever is a good idea who knows.
