I’m a strategy game player, this one is my favorite. If anyone here is into it I’d later to blah with you about it some time.

I love few things in this life.  Total war is one of them:  Shogun, Medieval, then Empire.  I had such an addiction I actually had to get rid of the computer at one point.  I heard that Rome II was really dumbed down.

I haven’t played Total War yet, but because I love the history of Attila and the Huns, I’m half-tempted to get Total War: Attila when it’s released.

Played Empire, the battles were epic. Especially satisfying watching a superior force rout. I really gotta install that again, haven’t played in ages.

I’ve routed armies that outnumbered me 3 to one before, that was fun. The AI is sketchy, and prone to positional fighting unless they have no artillery.

I prefer using agent units a lot, which is why I really liked shogun II.   I would have almost no military forces guarding a city and have 2-4 enemy stacks ready to attack it.  Not only that but they would have 3 times the territory and economic resources I did.  I would just keep halting and sabotaging them with agent units until nothing was left.  I literally took an invading force 3 times my size with 3 times the resources and reduced it to nothing using only agent units.

It is hilarious to break an army into nothing without even fighting it once.

I’ve had an idea for an improved version of Total War. I’ve nominally named it General Staff. It would be less about nation building, and more about army building and such.Same game engine but more geared towards military management and associated areas.

That would be a great game Smitty the Great One as I’m not the biggest fan of going town to town and settings things up either. I started playing Total War MidEvil II again because of a Game of Thrones Mod that someone created. I’m having such a great time with it so far. I also have the Total War Rome one but not the Attila one yet. These are a great series of games.

It’s fun to torment your enemies by camping outside their ports with a large armada, cutting off all their resources and blowing up their ports. Then they beg and beg for a peace treaty, but giving them one usually results in them breaking it, which just means they get even more of a beating when they do.

lol you’re kind to accept their treaty and break them all over again. Which Total War is your favorite? Right now I’m doing Midevil II with a Game of Thrones Mod. It was pretty gratifying to take out the Freys
