I’m 22, which makes me a millennial. All through time each generation has hated the one that comes after it. That’s how it’s always been, and I have derided the actions of my own generation, but that tends to be more aimed at stupid people everywhere not just millennials. Anyway, my point is this:

My generation are the ones that were raised by single parents en masse, we’ve seen our fathers humiliated and thrown aside, and we’ve seen the ravages of divorce. My generation knows better than most other generations that marriage is a raw deal. It’s well known that millennials aren’t marrying, because we know. MGTOW will only grow, swelled by new millennials. We get a bad wrap, but it’s my generation that stepped up to deal with 9/11 to fight in Iraq. There are some very stupid people out there, but there are also some very good ones. If you like nothing else about my generation, at least know what we are. We aren’t buying that marriage bulls~~~, and we know the systems rigged. Expect to see more and more young men going their own way. And to all the older gents out there, I certainly learned from your mistakes, and you can sleep soundly knowing that you have saved so much agony for so many guys. You’ve earned my respect, for dealing with divorces and showing my generation the light. Thank you.

Silverstone, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You did not pick which generation you were born too. And you are proving to be a better and wiser person than most people, by being honest, straight forward, and learning from other people’s mistakes.

There will always be stupid people, there will always be smart people. Everyone is always “stupid” in one way or another. Despite the fact that millennials are under-performing in school, they seem to have figured out that marriage is a rigged game.

    our generation does suck.

but, every previous generation as well as our own is to blame for societies current state.

every generation sucks; remember, history is written by the victors.

What schools? The ones our parents set up as liberal feminist brainwashing centers for us?

    @silverstone II,
Great post! (The kids these days have no respect for their elders, and their music is just junk!)
[Edit: Removed image to keep post out of spam folder. It wasn’t that funny anyway.]

What schools? The ones our parents set up as liberal feminist brainwashing centers for us?

Yeah, those schools. I’d rather stick my tender parts into a radioactive wood chipper than enroll in one of today’s colleges. On the other hand, exposure to all that toxic danger must be teaching those trapped in them to avoid women — teaching the smart ones that is.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

    Silverstone2-
    Great post.
You should be proud to be a millennial. I’m impressed by the wisdom you display at a young age.
Also, it’s great that you have learned from us geezers. I wish I had listened more intently to others before I took a ride on the marriage express. (Better late than never)
I have no doubt you’ll do fine. Thanks

Despite the fact that millennials are under-performing in school

Well, if I’m honest, school these days, at least through high school, is little more than a glorified day care center. Parents put you there so you can learn about the revolutionary war for 12 years. That’s all well and good, except there’s more to the world than that war. There’s no critical thinking involved in school, you memorize and regurgitate info and then you move on.

There’s many people you could point the finger at, but I’d say the person who is the most responsible for my education is me. I’m an autodidact, I learn things for myself, I learn different sides of arguments and make a well informed decision. Anyone who willingly accepts ignorance deserves it. In this day and age knowledge is more abundant than ever before, and people still claim ignorance. Learn for yourself, learn from others and keep your eyes OPEN.

I would say, that the word you used in that sentence (hate). is extremely harsh and unfounded.
Most certainly you will find some people that may hate the new generations, but in reality the number is extremely small.
We must learn to correctly differentiate between dislike, disgust & hate, etc etc. And let’s not forget that it’s a two way street.

From personal experience, i never hated those that were there before me nor those that will be taking my place such as your generation. Living life is more important than wasting energy hating.

Wise words, I hope you are right and many of of your same age peers do follow a similar path.

I’m right there with you, born in ’92. Our generation had its fair share of obnoxious and stupid people, but of course so does any generation. I apply Sturgeon’s rule to people. “90% of everything is crap!” When I converse with others, they tend to be from a variety of age groups. That’s the only thing we can do if we want a semi reliable source of somewhat intelligent conversation.

Well put; this was why i never did good in school; there was 0 thinking involved, and the content kept REPEATING. I honestly could not understand how f~~~ing stupid everyone was! Grade 6… start learning Algebra… OH?!!? Summer Time! 2 months later… Grade 7, WHAT IS ALGEBRA? start learning algebra AGAIN… OH! Summer time! 2 months later… WHAT IS ALGEBRA? Grade 8… Summer Time!!! 2 months later…. WHAT IS ALGEBRA? Grade 9 Summer Time!!! 2 Months Later… WHAT IS ALGEBRA?

    F~~~!
Post Secondary AKA UNIVERSITY! WHAT IS ALGEBRA?!?!? What is a f~~~ing noun? How do you write an essay?

I absolutely can not stand the education system; Aside from the entire system being ran by women, it being an over-glorified day care center was the only thing i could come up with as being a logical explanation for it. Oh, and all the while, every f~~~ing person in the world is telling you how important it is, how if you fail in school you will become a homeless guy begging for change… and how if you go to university, you will instantly get a 6 figure income! Both of which are completely wrong.

i barely graduated from high school, dropped out of post secondary, and am completely SELF-TAUGHT. Here is the kicker, when we are hiring people, we couldn’t give a rats ass about people with university degrees… and 9/10 times the ones with the degrees, ARE ABSOLUTELY RETARDED! Further more, these post secondary degrees teach DICK ALL, so they have to be trained all like the rest of them!

So… either waste 4-8 MORE years in post secondary, OR get 4-8 years of EXPERIENCE.. and get paid for it too!
F~~~, even having a highschool diploma does dick f~~~ing all; the only thing its good for is for getting a job interview… for a min-wage job! Everywhere else, no one could give a f~~~ about a highschool diploma.

Oh, and all the while, every f~~~ing person in the world is telling you how important it is, how if you fail in school you will become a homeless guy begging for change… and how if you go to university, you will instantly get a 6 figure income!

This is how I looked at the world at 18 as well. Of course I also thought I’d be supporting a wife and kids back then too lol. If I could go back in time knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t have gone to college. I ended up going part time with a few full time semesters sprinkled in for 10 years, and paid cash for 2 degrees. If I average 5k a semester for 10 years, I spent 100,000 dollars on college.

Now let’s assume 10 hours a week on average on campus and 10 hours a week average on homework…I put 20 hours a week on average into college. Had I just gone and got a part time job on top of my other job, or took advantage of a few under the table things I passed up on over the years because I didn’t have time due to school, I could have been earning an extra 10-20k a year for 10 years.

So basically over a 10 year period I could have an extra 200-300k + gains sitting in my brokerage/retirement accounts, or have a good bit of equity built up in multiple rental properties. Yeah I’m making six figures now, but ultimately the goal is to create passive income streams so you don’t have to work any more. I could have been in a position right now where I was making 40-50k at one job, probably with a net worth between 500-750k, and probably earning 30k a year in dividends/rental income off that net worth, but instead I’m in a six figure job with a much lower net worth and about 5,000 a year in passive income. It depends what the market does at this point…if it goes down I’ll hit a break even point sooner, if it goes up I’ll hit it later…but I’m estimating I won’t hit a break even point for about 10 years. If the market does average to good I probably could have been comfortable retired before I hit a break even point.

Basically a job is only something I need until I can set up enough passive income streams to support myself. I wish I had that view at 18 instead of getting sucked into the notion that a career was some big, all important, defining aspect of who you are. I’d still find productive things to do with my time if I didn’t have a job or need the money, but they’d actually be productive things I enjoy, not just productive things that are lucrative.

I’d say that the #1 defining trait of millenials is that they (except for the oldest few years) are the first generation to grow up with the internet. That’s a double edged sword: they’ve suffered from information overload, but also the smarter ones are able to find good information among the bad. So, for instance, a male millenial who starts to suspect at a young age that marriage is a raw deal, he can find information to validate his suspicions. Imagine trying to do that with only the public library, the newspaper, and word of mouth!

The second defining trait of millenials is the emergence of helicopter parenting. Again a double edged sword. Millenials are possibly more narcissistic than previous generations, but they are definitely better behaved; take a look at historical juvenile delinquency rates for evidence of that.
